Wizards players really did show up to the Celtics game wearing 'funeral' black

The surging Washington Wizards and the Celtics have gone at each other in recent meetings with John Wall and Jae Crowder nearly brawled after the buzzer on Jan. 11.

These recent battles with Boston have given the Wizards an extra edge for Tuesday’s game. On Monday, Wizards players said they would be wearing all black before this game against Boston. John Wall called it “a funeral.”

Come Tuesday, the players stayed true to the dress code. This was the scene as players arrived at the Verizon Center.

They really weren’t joking.

The Celtics’ Isaiah Thomas laughed off the stunt and called it “cute.”

“It’s not like it’s a Game 7,” he told csnmidatlantic.com.

Tuesday’s game should be interesting.
