It is nearing the end of the calendar year once again so it is time for Guns and Ammo to announce their different firearm awards for 2017. In the last issue of the year and the most recent, December 2017, Guns and Ammo published that the Barrett Fieldcraft™ won their 2017 Rifle of the Year award.

Barrett sent out an e-mail to consumers, dealers and distributors spreading the word of their award stating this:

Barrett® Fieldcraft™ has been honored as Guns and Ammo’s 2017 Rifle of the Year.

According to Guns and Ammo staff, the Fieldcraft stood out from its toughest competitors due to its balance in offering lightweight handling and reliable, sub-minute accuracy for those headed to the most challenging terrains.

Guns and Ammo editors, contributors, and staff determined the winner for each category on a point system relating to three criteria. First, the product must be new and available for purchase. Second, the product must demonstrate quality and reliability to a degree that met or exceeded its design objective. Lastly, the winner offered the greatest appeal to the masses.

According to Guns and Ammo, the Fieldcraft is an exceptional design.

It is difficult to argue against Barrett receiving this award because the Fieldcraft™ is such a well-crafted rifle. With Timney triggers, carbon fiber stocks, precision barrels, actions scaled to the caliber the rifle is chambered in and threaded barrel options, there are a lot of positives to the Barrett Fieldcraft™.
