Gunnar Henderson

BAL Shortstop #2

Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and three RBI in leading the Orioles to a 6-5 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

It didn’t seem like anyone really expected Henderson to improve on his terrific rookie campaign this year, but he has in nearly every regard thus far. Boasting some of the game’s best exit velocity numbers, he looks like a legitimate superstar. He’s batting .309/.373/.649 with eight homers through 24 games.
Mike Trout

LAA Center Fielder #27

Mike Trout became the first major leaguer to reach 10 homers this season when he took the Orioles’ Dean Kremer deep on Wednesday.

Trout’s 10th homer came in his 25th game. He still has just 13 RBI, since he’s not hitting singles (.237 average) and he’s especially not hitting with men on base. Things don’t figure to get much better there if the Angels leave him in the leadoff spot.
Thairo Estrada

SF Second Baseman #39

Thairo Estrada was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Mets due to tightness in his left hamstring.

The 28-year-old infielder tried to talk his way into staying in the game, so hopefully the injury isn’t that serious. The Giants should provide an update on his status after the game, but it sounds like Estrada should be considered day-to-day.
Francisco Lindor

NYM Shortstop #12

Francisco Lindor went 4-for-5 with two homers and four RBI as the Mets topped the Giants 8-2 on Wednesday.

The homers came off Sean Hjelle in the third and Mitch White in the ninth. The slumping Lindor raised his OPS from .538 to .652 today. At .206, it’s also the first time this season he’s boasted an average at or above the Mendoza Line.
Cody Bellinger

CHC Center Fielder #24

Cubs placed Cody Bellinger on the injured list with a rib fracture, according to manager Craig Counsell.

There isn’t a reported designation for Bellinger, but given it’s a rib fracture, fantasy managers can expect the 28-year-old to miss an extended period of time. X-rays were initially negative, but a CT scan on Wednesday morning revealed a fracture in his right rib after he collided into the centerfield wall against the Astros on Tuesday.
Max Scherzer

TEX Starting Pitcher #31

Rangers sent Max Scherzer (back) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Round Rock.

The 39-year-old veteran will get the start on Wednesday and hopes to throw at least 50 pitches. Scherzer, who has been on the injured list since the start of the regular season, hopes to make a return in sometime in May after he underwent back surgery in the offseason.
Brayan Bello

BOS Starting Pitcher #66

Red Sox placed Brayan Bello on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 21, with right lat tightness.

The hits keep on coming for the Red Sox as their young ace will be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Bello has allowed two or fewer runs in four of his five starts and threw at least seven strikeouts in his last two starts this season. It’s a tough pill to swallow for Boston as the team leaned on Bello as they manage injuries to its rotation, but now he’s a part of that issue for Alex Cora and his roster.
Rafael Devers

BOS Third Baseman #11

Rafael Devers is back in the starting lineup as a designated hitter for the Red Sox against the Guardians on Wednesday.

This will be the 27-year-old’s first game since April 17. Devers has been dealing with a knee injury and the team obviously wanted to be as a cautious as possible with their best player. He’ll look to improve at the plate as he’s gotten off to a slow start with a .188 batting average in his first 13 games this season.
Alex Young

CIN Relief Pitcher #48

Reds transferred LHP Alex Young to the 60-day injured list with back disc degeneration.

It’ll take more time for the 30-year-old southpaw to get back to full strength. Young has been dealing with this back issue since the the start of spring training.
Lane Thomas

WAS Center Fielder #28

Nationals place Lane Thomas on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left MCL.

Tough news. The 28-year-old outfielder exited Tuesday’s game after he twisted his leg on a stolen base attempt and now will be sidelined for at least the next week. Thomas hit a nice stride in early April with three straight games with multiple hits, but he’s cooled off and has a batting line of .184/.250/.253 in 22 games this season.
