Rocker Mustaffa Din or Mus of the Malaysian group May admits his memory is still weak after recovering from an illness which saw him in an induced coma last July.

Describing himself as “on the mend”, Mus admits he is taking time to regain his memory and fortunately, he has been able to memorise the lyrics of his songs such as “Cintamu Mekar Di Hati” and “Sendiri”.

“I’m still quite forgetful, I forget the names of friends whom I’ve not met for some time. Worse still, at times I don’t remember what musical instruments are placed in our recording studio,” said Mus in a recent news report.

“Fortunately, my bandmates and family members have been helping me all the way, and for the time being, my personal assistant accompanies me wherever I go.”

Mus explained that the doctors who treated him said that his memory loss was not permanent and he would gradually recover in three to four months’ time.

“There’s nothing much I can do about it, other than to persevere and take my medication regularly,” said Mus.

“I’m glad to have returned to the stage with my bandmates since last month, and I’m happy that my years of learning to memorise lyrics have worked wonders!”
