Biography
Working experiences (academy):

August 2014 - present, Brighton, UK: employed as research fellow by the Science and Policy Research Unit – SPRU, for the development of a proposal focused on carbon markets and carbon finance.

September 2013 – present, Brighton, UK: employed as associate tutor (AT) by the Science and Policy Research Unit – SPRU, and the School of Business Management and Economics (BMEC), Sussex University, for 'public and nonprofit organisations' and 'project management' (undergraduate students at BMEC), and for Introduction to Climate Change Economics and Policy (master students at SPRU).

March – September 2013, Brighton, UK: employed as AT by SPRU, following the development of four SPRU masters students' dissertations.

October 2011 – June 2013, Brighton, UK: employed as research fellow and analyst by BMEC on behalf of the European Commission, to analyse the new environmental policies adopted in China and their socio-economic impacts at international level.

April 2011, Brighton, UK: employed as consultant by the Sussex Energy Group, on behalf of Oliver Wyman, to analyse the efficacy of the clean development mechanism's application in China.

May 2010 – February 2011, Brighton, UK, Beijing, China: employed as project assistant by the Sussex Energy Group, for the 'UK-China collaborative study on low-carbon technology transfer', to collaborate in the design and development of the study's bibliography, as well as to implement the field work in China and to collaborate in the final documents elaborations.

October 2009 – March 2010, Pisa, Italy: employed as consultant by the Management and Innovation (MAIN) laboratory at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, to design project research proposals in the fields of environment, energy and climate change according to the sectors of interest of the laboratory, with special reference to activities in the Municipality of Chongqing – China.

Studies:

February 2007 – July 2011, Pisa, Italy: PhD study in the course of Politics, Human Rights and Sustainability Department of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (with SPRU external supervision). Project research title: “A transition management approach to the low-carbon development of the Chinese electric power production system”. Final mark: 100 out of 100, cum laude. Main PhD topics: Chinese strategies and policies towards climate change; role of the Kyoto protocol in China; application of a 'transition management' perspective to the Chinese context; international implications. Main fields of study and research: climate politics and economics; climate finance; sustainable development; energy strategies; technological innovation; innovation theories; international relations. Visiting student periods during the PhD: SPRU (one year in two different periods), Tsinghua University (four months).

February – June 2006, Pisa, Italy and Chongqing, China: post degree specialisation on 'Society and Economy in Contemporary China', at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and Chongqing University.

October 1993 – November 1999, Gorizia, Italy: master of arts in International and Diplomatic Studies. Degree obtained in November 1999 (final mark 110 out of 110). Thesis: “Banking System in Islamic Economic Thought”. Visiting student period during the master: one-year study in Political Sciences and Business Administration faculties at Complutense University, Madrid, Spain.
