This sale of selected British Empire classics was formed during the 1950s and has lain dormant for over fifty years. Robert van Buren Emmons had an eye for quality and was able to purchase many items from major collections that came to the market during that period, including Alfred Caspary, G.H. Boucher, Alan Stevenson (Cape of Good Hope), Charles Pack (Cape of Good Hope), Emerson Huston (Cape of Good Hope), Frederic Harris (Ceylon), Ernest Lye (Ceylon) and Charlton Henry (St. Vincent).
