HTC’s One X9 midrange handset apparently sold well enough to warrant a sequel, and it looks like the Taiwanese firm will now launch one, according to reports. Meet the HTC One X10.

Rumors about the phone have popped up a few times over the past few months, giving us a pretty good look at the specs and design we should expect from the HTC One X10. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming handset so far.

Design

On the outside, the One X10 is rumored to adopt similar design cues to those featured on the OnePlus 3, the LeEco Le Pro 3, and plenty of other Android handsets. Based on leaked promotional materials and photos claimed to be of the device, it appears that is a reasonable call to make.

Most recently, HTC Source shared two promotional images of the new handset that look to come straight from the company. They show both sides of the device, and also tell us the size of the battery: 4,000mAh. Immediately preceding that leak, Evan Blass shared a similar image on Twitter centered on the backside of the One X10, also touting the improved battery capacity.

An earlier image, courtesy of SlashLeaks, depicted the front of the phone as it would come out of the box — protective stickers and all.

Specs

The latest news on the specs front comes from those aforementioned promotional images, which tout a 4,000mAh battery — significantly larger than the 3,000mAh capacity of the outgoing One X9. The company claims this will allow the HTC One X10 to last up to two days on a charge, given typical usage.

Under the hood, the phone is expected to sport relatively decent hardware — although that will largely depend on how much it ends up costing. Rumored to power the One X10 is MediaTek’s octa-core 1.9GHz MT6755 chipset, which also made an appearance in the Desire 10 Pro, along with 3GB RAM. 32GB of storage is available out of the box, though a MicroSD card slot might be available for additional memory.

Around back, the phone is set to feature a 16.3-megapixel camera above the circular fingerprint sensor and next to the dual LED flash module. The front features a 7.9MP sensor above the 5.5-inch, 1,920 × 1,080 resolution display.

Below the display reportedly sits Google’s traditional back, home, and overflow buttons, noteworthy features given how prior HTC phones do not offer this set of buttons on the hardware.

If the specifications turn out to be accurate, the One X10 might not show enough improvement to persuade someone with the One X9 to make the jump. Apart from the processing package, the main difference is the former’s higher-resolution cameras compared to the latter’s 13MP and 5MP cameras.

By itself, though, the HTC One X10 is a decent midrange option that most likely won’t break the bank — we assume the phone will not go for very much, although pricing and availability are currently unavailable. HTC initially unveiled the One X9 during the tail end of 2015, and sold it for around $170, so we are actually somewhat overdue for an announcement now. The One X9 made its way to China and other parts of the world, and there’s no indication that would change for the One X10.

OnePlus wants to tempt you back to Android tablets with the OnePlus Pad
The back of the OnePlus Pad tablet.

OnePlus has made an iPad Pro-bothering tablet called the OnePlus Pad, an 11.6-inch monster that expands the brand’s product line beyond its core phones and earbuds, joining other peripheral devices like the OnePlus Watch and OnePlus TV. It’s OnePlus’s first foray into the world of Android tablets, and it’s not taking the commitment lightly — providing plenty of tech to tempt you away from the Apple iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.

The 11.6-inch screen has an unusual 7:5 aspect ratio (most iPad tablets have a 4:3 aspect ratio, for example), and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate, plus Dolby Vision certification. It’s compatible with OnePlus’s Stylo stylus (which comes in the box) and attaches to a keyboard or protective case accessory using magnets. The early press details state the keyboard comes with the OnePlus Pad, meaning you won’t have to buy anything extra to enjoy all its abilities.

OnePlus 11’s controversial design returns in new ‘official’ renders
Renders of the OnePlus 11 in black and green.

The OnePlus 11 Pro was slated to be the next OnePlus flagship for early 2023. However, as per a new report from Gadget Gang (in association with reliable tipster @OnLeaks), the leaked OnePlus 11 Pro in the past is in fact, the OnePlus 11, which will be the flagship for early 2023. Apart from that, we also have our first look at the 'official' renders of the next OnePlus flagship. It looks like the company is iterating the design from its 2022 designs, with controversial results.

According to the latest renders, OnePlus is taking inspiration from Samsung of 2021 by extending the camera module to the side of the OnePlus 11. The new design is likely to stir some debate around the looks of the device. Meanwhile, the Hasselblad logo is now in the middle of the camera module, which looks odd. The optics include a three-lens camera system accompanied by an LED flash. The OnePlus 11 is said to be made available in Forest Emerald and Volcanic Black color options. As per the renders, the back seems to have a matte finish.

Samsung’s One UI 5 launches with iOS 16’s coolest feature
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in Phantom Black with S Pen.

Samsung has finally announced One UI 5, its take on Android 13. The company is focusing on improving the customizability of its operating system, refining its distinct design language, and adding some nice-to-have improvements as well.

Samsung's headlining feature here is lock screen customization. Although not exactly new to the company's phones, Samsung is bringing that functionality over to One UI's stock lock screen just after Apple unveiled something similar on iOS 16. You can tweak the wallpaper, clock style, notification design, and more. It's even been tweaked to look like Apple's implementation. Lock screen customization is a useful feature that you'll find on many Chinese Android phones. It's one that Google should implement in Android as a whole, especially considering its focus on individuality with Material You.
