OhMiBod's smart kegel exerciser doubles as a sex toy

Though there were plenty of fitness devices here at CES 2016, OhMiBod's Lovelife Krush beat out all of them to win our Best of CES award in the Digital Health and Fitness category. That's because the smart kegel exerciser offers a unique take on the fitness quantification trend, by making it easier for women to strengthen their pelvic muscles. Of course, there've been smart kegel exercisers before, but the Krush offers a new easier-to-insert form factor plus you can unlock more patterns for use of it as a sex toy too.

Lest you think this an unnecessary gadget, kegel exercises are actually fairly important for a healthy pubococcygeus muscle (PC muscle), which is good for a healthy sex life and key to avoiding incontinence later on. While I did not have a chance to try this with my own private parts, I did at least hold it in my hands to get an idea of how it works. It feels soft, squishy and not at all unpleasant. Basically the Krush inserts into the vagina much like a tampon. From there, you can select the sequence you want, and the app will go into the kegel exercise mode. When it comes time to squeeze your kegel muscles, the Krush will vibrate, and the app will also say "squeeze" in large letters. It'll then tell you to relax, and the cycle will continue for a few minutes.

The Krush itself is a fairly small palm-sized affair and seems a little tinier than the other smart kegel exercisers out there. There's a small silicone tail that you can use to pull it out. If you'd like to use the Krush as a sex toy, you can unlock additional pulsing patterns so that it functions like a vibrator. Like the other OhMiBod sex toys, the Krush is made out of body-safe silicone and can be washed in just mild soap and water. A spokesperson told us it can also be cleaned with regular toy cleaner, though she recommends following it up with a wash anyway.
