It seems like viewers won't be seeing a Kris Aquino show on GMA-7 during the first quarter of 2017.
Select members of the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), had a chance to get an exclusive preview of the Kapuso shows that will be launched this year.
Miss Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV, said she is not yet sure if Kris will have a Kapuso program this 2017.
"'Yan ang hindi ko pa alam," she admitted during the press conference held at the GMA Network office earlier today, January 16.
"Wala talaga kaming alam kasi iba ang nagma-manage sa kanya. Wala pa kaming naririnig na ganyan, somehow."
Another reporter then asked her to clarify if it's true that Kris is not welcome to the Kapuso network.
It can be recalled that in 2016, Kris was already supposed to tape for her new Kapuso talk show that was supposed to be produced by APT Entertainment.
However, the talk show did not push through.
Ms. Rasonable answered, "It is not true that she is not welcome. I've also read the other write-ups about it tapos it was very vague naman who or which group they were referring to.
"It's just that the readers and people in social media were guessing it was the executive of GMA.
"Pero sa totoo lang, never did we talk about it nor did we ever say na di siya welcome.
"In fact, we even guested her in Yan ang Morning. If she was not welcome, she would not be guested in the first place."
Yan Ang Morning was the defunct talk show of GMA hosted by Marian Rivera. Kris appeared as a guest during the June 29, 2016 episode of the show.
There were also rumors that Kris's talk show was supposed to replace Marian's talk show when it ended in August.
However, Miss Lilybeth clarified, "No, definitely not that's not true at all. That's far-fetched.
"When the Marian show ended, wala pa namang Kris Aquino, nasa ABS-CBN pa siya. She was still very much in ABS when the show ended."
It can be recalled that it was in September 11, 2016 when Kris formally announced her departure from ABS-CBN through Instagram.
KRIS AS BLOCKTIMER. Will Kris be welcome to do a show on GMA as a blocktimer?
Ms. Rasonable explained, "Entertainment TV kasi does not take care of the blocktimers.
"As far as I know, if you are a blocktimer, you propose a concept. If it is approved and there's a timeslot, then okay.
"So it's not because you're Kris Aquino, you cannot come in or anything.
"Whoever the blocktimer is who wants to propose a concept or program will go through the same process that everybody goes through when proposing a project with GMA."
