Hey folks, i have run into some financial problems as of late and i have bought a iCare mini MTL little mod and love it. I want to switch back to my Protank2 and stop using my Toptank Mini High wattage tank. I want to use my Protank2 on my Evic mini 75W mod. I have right now ONE 1.8ohm head installed in the Protank2, the description for that head on the site i buy from says that the 1.8 head is for standard voltage ego style batteries. The 2.8ohm heads are for variable wattage mods. What can i set my Evic to so i can use this 1.8ohm head for the time being until i can grab a pack of 2.8 heads? Since the wattage sets the volts automatically on the mod, what wattage should i run the mod so i dont burn up the 1.8 head?

TLDR I need to know what wattage to run the protank2 1.8 head at with my high wattage mod? When i get the 2.8ohm heads what would be a good wattage to run those at with the high wattage mod? Reason i am switching is i can NOT go through juice like i have been with this fog machine and am switching to high nic juice and going back to my toodle puffing tank.

Any help appreciated. I wont run the Protank2 until i get an answer.

You can run it at a much lower wattage, it shouldn't be an issue. I run 1.8 coil heads between 7--11 watts, just prime your coil like you usually would and then move up slooowllly in wattage until you find a vape you like. You can also check the coil head there should be a recommended wattage on it-- My opinion on that is that it's fine to vape below it, but I wouldn't go ABOVE the recommended wattage or your coil probably won't last long.

Good luck switching back,

Anna

Thanks all for the advice. Yes will start at 5w. Those tiny heads dont have a wattage stamped on them just the Ohm. Sorry if there were two threads, the site messed up and hung and it told me the first attempt to post filed because there were to many tags? Never seen that before, so i changed the title, or deleted some kind of tag things down near submit button.

Anyways, just a DUH moment on my part. Thanks so much for the advice. The switch is going great, i do not miss the Toptank at all since i started using the iCare mini(its the original type one, short tiny thing 360mah or something with built in tank). Its been great. I found my protank2, cleaned it out and found a single head i had left and have it sitting half full waiting to go. I figured why not use it, why let my mod sit here with 5 batteries, doing nothing. My lungs actually feel better also since i switched back.

Thanks for all the help, this site has always been great!

One question I would ask you is how low will your high wattage mods go? You may not want to go all the way up to 2.8Ω if you are used to vaping at a much higher watt on a much lower ohm coil and it is possible that your devices won't go low enough to keep from burning a 2.8 Ω coil.

I rebuild all of my protank type coils @ 1.8Ω and run them at the lowest setting, 5 watts on my 30 watt isticks and 7 watts on my kbox mini's. Since Provari doesn't do watts I turn them down to 3.3 volts. I never get super massive plumes of vapor but get plenty to satisfy me. It seems like I have one device or another pretty well glued to my hand but at the end of the day I find that I have only gone through an average of about 3 mls of e-liquid a day.

Since I rebuild my protank/evod type coils and make my own e-liquid, vaping is basically free for me. It can be for you too and once you get there the little financial bumps in the road won't hit so hard as far as vaping goes.

I'm kinda off subject here, but the top tank mini should have a rebuild able deck. If you grab a roll of 30g kanthal and bag of cotton it would be way cheaper than buying disposable coils. If money is a problem the rebuilding route is cheapest.

That's a great suggestion. And while certainly not as easy as the RBA, the PT2 heads are rebuildable, too.
