'My husband is the most useless man in the world'

Yemisi has been married for seven years to Tayo but she has not been enjoying her marriage as her husband has turned out to be her worst nightmare.

This worried woman needs advice

I know many people will castigate me and call me names for saying this but I will not hold anything against them because they are not in my shoes and will not know what I am going through and why I have come to that conclusion.

Some others will ask me why I got married to him or why I have stayed this long if I see him as a monster but I will say I have stayed mainly because of my children and the fear of what people will say if I move out of Tayo's house.

I must confess that he was not like this when we were dating. He may not have been the best lover I had but when I got pregnant, we had to get married because I did not want to have a child out of wedlock.

Three years into our marriage, Tayo lost his job and for four years now, he has not bothered to look for another job because I have been carrying the family, paying the rent, school fees, feeding him and our children and giving him money whenever he demands.

Anytime I refuse to give him money, Tayo would beat me mercilessly and accuse me of cheating on him. Anytime he has any money, Tayo would spend it on women, drink to stupor and would forcefully have sex with me.

When other men go out to hustle for the family, my husband would sit in front of the TV drinking and smoking and if I complain, he would rain insults on me or even beat me.

As a father, he is useless and does not care about our children. I can't remember the last time he bought anything for the kids yet he wants them to look like children of rich men.

At times, I would borrow money from my family to take care of the home because of the useless man I got married to.

I am completely fed up but my mother keeps telling to endure and pray because marriage is full of ups and downs.

Now tell me if I am not saddled with the most useless man in this world.
