Another storm set to arrive in NorCal on Saturday

As the wet weather wraps up Thursday in Northern California, people up and down the region are preparing for a weekend storm that is sure to bring plenty more rain and some snow. Some lingering snow showers could pop up in the Sierra through the evening, but should be mostly wrapped up by nightfall. The Valley is projected to remain dry through Friday night. Track the wet weather with Interactive Radar. SNOW TOTALS: Since the start of the storm, many Sierra locations have picked up a couple feet of fresh powder. Here are the snow accumulations for mountain resorts, through 6 a.m. Thursday: Sugar Bowl: 67 inchesHomewood: 61 inchesBoreal: 56 inchesAlpine Meadows: 53 inchesSquaw Valley: 53 inchesSierra-at-Tahoe: 47 inchesNorthstar: 45 inchesKirkwood: 34 inchesDodge Ridge: 33 inchesBear Valley: 30 inches WEEKEND STORM AHEAD While Thursday and Friday should remain dry in Northern California, another round of snow and rain is forecast to move into the region on Saturday and into Sunday. Potentially hazardous conditions have prompted officials to close Sly Park Recreation Area at 4 p.m. Friday until the storm has passed. The storm is expected to be a warmer one, with snow levels staying up between 8,000 and 9,000 feet. Snow won't be as much the story, as the rain and winds will be. The heaviest rain is expected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with winds sustained between 15 and 20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. By 4 a.m. Sunday, Sacramento could pick up 1.89 inch of rain, and Marysville could see 1.15 inch of rain. Even more rain could be seen in Stockton and Blue Canyon, with as much as 2.11 inches and 4.04 inches of precipitation, respectively. Many spots in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys may get between 1 and 2 inches of rain, while the foothills and mountains could receive between 3 and 6 inches of rain/liquid precipitation in the form of snow. Temperatures are projected to be in the lower 50s for both days in the Valley. SAND BAG LOCATIONS: The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office put together a list of locations where people can pick up sand bags ahead of Saturday's next round of wet weather. While Thursday and Friday should remain dry in Northern California, another round of snow and rain is forecast to move into the region on Saturday and into Sunday.
