So, just started vaping four weeks ago. Started with the Alien 220. Upgraded my Smok Baby Beast to a Rig Mod Tanker which holds a lot more juice. I love the Vape production but the flavor is nowhere near the Baby Beast. Put a rebuildable deck in the Tanker and that bumped flavor some but still nowhere near the Baby Beast. I don't understand why the flavor is so muted in the Tanker. Are there any tanks that can match the flavor of the BB? I hate refilling that thing ever 30 min. Is it the wide bore drip tip? Is it because its taller than the BB? Is the way more airflow? What's the deal?

Just a quick question, do you have air flow wide open?

Open air flow = less flavor.
Although i'm sure you're right i'd say it depends. I vaped a ....load of flavors lately and wether it's fully opened or halfway closed (even 3/4 closed sometimes) i don't notice much of a difference tbh.
Though i've found the flavor of the BBB to be disapointing without it's rba base.

Well there's the Big Baby Beast which holds almost twice as much as its little brother (5ml as opposed to 3ml) and uses the same coils, so you should get the same or similar flavor.

I find your lack of faith disturbing...

Could be the coils.
I've only found good flavor with the triple coils and the rba.

Right now I'm using the W2 coil with the Gnome tank that came with my Gen 3. It is a bit better than the SMOK coils.

Honestly I'm no fan of SMOK coils. My opinion is they're overpriced and hit or miss.

The BB has a small chamber, smaller the chamber the better the flavor. I do get better flavor with some juices if I lower watts and reduce af. If you like BB you will like BBB (5ml). I do agree BBB rba flavor is 100% better than any coil Smok puts out.

I have tried it all the way, 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 pin hole and all the same. The BB just gives me a sweeter flavor full hit and the Tanker does not come close it doesn't matter if I'm using rig mod coils, Smok coils or the rebuildable deck with dual coils I barely taste anything.

So I just took a look at the Tanker and while you won't get as intense flavor from it as BB, you should be getting good flavor. How many ml have you run thru it before trying diff coil? You could be not giving coil adequate break in time. Also dt is proprietary, but looks like you might fit a 510 if you take original dt off. Will look funky but would still improve taste.

I doubt it's vaper's tongue or tastebuds if the OP is still tasting fine in the BB tank. Some tanks are just more flavorful than others and it depends on a lot of factors. Sometimes you have to tinker with a tank quite a bit to get the flavor you desire... It sounds like this may be the case for the OP.

What is the ohms on the coil and what wattage are you vaping at? You may need to adjust that. Maybe more wattage is needed.

Not all tanks are created equal and not all coils will get the same flavors. There are a lot of factors that influence flavor.

I used the Q2 .4ohm coils with the BB and it gets ok flavor at around 50 watts.
Now I use the SMM @ .28 ohms and vape it at 40-43 watts and get way better flavor than the BB.

So just got home to check it. Wismec is readying it at .28 ohm. I have run it from 40W all the way to 90 with not much change in the flavor I was getting.

Late to this, but flavor can be a bit subjective. There have been attys with rave reports from folks here that I found as meh at best. They're not wrong, and I'm not, it's personal preference. I've been surprised by the decent flavor out of those Smok coils, with the 0.4 ohm Q2 (? I think, but 0.4 ohm one) quite good for a factory coil, and I use it in the BBB for the extra volume. I like having rbas available for tanks like this, but I prefer to just stay with my RTAs for building. The rba is more a future proofing for when Smok no longer offers, or I can't get access to factory coils so I don't have a little glass paperweight.

In short, if you like the BB performance, try a BBB, it will probably fit you just fine.
