On Dec. 25, Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart presents a special holiday movie that sets up the sweeping period drama’s fourth season, which will return in early 2017.
A theme that runs through the 2-hour movie, When Calls the Heart Christmas, is a message of new beginnings and second chances. When we catch up with the residents of Hope Valley, they are helping new members of their community recover from a devastating flood and preparing for the town’s Christmas celebration. Leland and Rosemary Coulter return from their honeymoon and settle into married life, and Mayor Gowan returns amid controversy after a serious accident.
The town’s plans for a Merry Christmas are jeopardized when a train derailment delays the arrival of much-needed food, supplies and gifts. But with the help from a mysterious peddler (Terence Kelly, Bates Motel) who has an uncanny knack for having — or helping people find — what they need, Jack (Daniel Lissing), Elizabeth (Erin Krakow), and Abigail (Lori Loughlin) rally the town residents to create a Christmas miracle.
Fans of When Calls the Heart — who collectively call themselves Hearties — and viewers new to the series, will relish this sweet and selfless holiday tale that reminds us that the best gifts are the simplest and most heartfelt ones. The best part of the holiday season is the giving of gifts and Hallmark has gifted fans a really beautiful story. I will admit that I cried three times, and love that this film premieres on Christmas, to remind us some of the best tidings we can offer to one another are those of comfort and joy.

This is the first episode I have missed and I own the first three seasons? Please show it again before the fourth season begins.
