Tottenham issue hands off warning to Barcelona for playmaker Christian Eriksen
Tottenham have told Barcelona to forget about signing Christian Eriksen as they consider him ‘non-transferable,’ according to reports in Spain.
The Danish midfielder has established himself as a key player under Mauricio Pochettino and has scored 34 Premier League goals during his time in north London.
And the Catalan giants, who failed with a summer move to sign Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, have set their sights on the 25-year-old.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s technical secretary, Robert Fernandez, has watched Eriksen on various occasions and is a long-standing ‘dream’ signing of his.
Eriksen himself has fuelled the speculation by telling Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet that “Barca is a great club and I don’t think there are many footballers who can say ‘no’ to Barcelona.”
But Tottenham are determined to keep their playmaker and are said to value Eriksen higher than the £200million Paris Saint-Germain paid them for Neymar.
