Fargo: Season 3 Adds Harry Potter's David Thewlis

Several new faces will soon be appearing in Fargo, as David Thewlis, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jim Gaffigan have all been added to the cast for Season 3.

Thewlis, who starred as Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter films, will play a "mysterious loner" and capitalist named V.M. Vargas, who has some unfortunate news to share with Emmit (Ewan McGregor), as the Parking Lot King of Minnesota is now partners with his law-bending employers.

Meanwhile, Stuhlbarg, who appeared in Boardwalk Empire as Arnold Rothstein (and can currently be seen in Doctor Strange), will star as Sy Feltz, the "right hand man and consigliere" of Emmit.

Finally, Gaffigan (The Bleeder, The Jim Gaffigan Show) will play Donny Mashman, the deputy of Gloria (Carrie Coon) who works at the local police department.

Fargo: Season 3 will also star Scoot McNairy as Maurice LeFay, "a stoner with a criminal past," as well as Shea Whigham, who plays Moe Dammick, the Meeker County Chief of Police. Karan Soni will play a scientist named Dr. Homer Gilruth, Fred Melamed will play "a mover and a shaker" named Howard Zimmerman, and Thomas Mann will play an award-winning sci-fi author named Thaddeus Mobley.

The third season of Fargo will premiere on FX sometime in 2017, with production scheduled to begin in Calgary in January. In the meantime, check out IGN's Fargo: Season 2 review.
