'Show me respect' Raging Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha slams Neil Lennon and match officials as Ibrox men crash to defeat

The Portuguese says he's treated differently to every other boss in Scotland, hit out at 'rugby tackle' on Alfredo Morelos and was peeved at the Hibs manager's celebratory gesture towards Gers fans.

Livid Pedro Caixinha took a swipe at Neil Lennon and the match officials after Rangers crashed to a 3-2 defeat to Hibs.

The Portuguese believes he was shown a lack of respect in his technical area in a fiery Premiership encounter. Referee John Beaton booked six players and sent off Gers’ Ryan Jack but there was controversy in the dugouts as well.

When Simon Murray equalised for Hibs, Lennon made a celebratory gesture towards the home fans that angered Caixinha and assistant Helder Baptista.

And the Ibrox gaffer – who insisted a challenge by Hibs skipper Darren McGregor on Alfredo Morelos was more suited to rugby – has claimed he isn’t being treated like every other boss in Scotland.

He said: “I’m the first one to support the referees and clean football but this is the first time after a match I’ve checked the images.

“I looked at the video and watched something that’s not possible to do even in rugby. If a player in rugby had done it he’d be sent off.

“But the referee gave nothing. When I’m wrong in my decisions I take responsibility.

“But for the good of football I’d invite the referee to look at the video and analyse whether he took good decisions or not.

“Also when I celebrate I do it with my own fans. I didn’t celebrate our goal any differently.

“I spoke to my players about emotional balance. But in minute five when a player from my team receives aggression like that and nothing happens, that means we can also do it.

“I’ve already worked in one country where there is a circle, a union. When someone new gets on the circle people start looking around. But even in a union I demand respect. I came here to Scotland to work and give my best.

“All the time I’ll defend this massive club. I’ll do it until my last day.”
