Evaluation on the effect of US-FNAC in diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules

Abstract: Objective:To compare the sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of high resolution ultrasound and US-FNAC,and to detect the efficiency of US-FNAC in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules.Methods:A total of 105 thyroid nodules from 93 patients were reviewed and analyzed by high resolution ultrasound and US-FNAC.With pathological findings as the golden diagnosis standard,valuable indicators screened of high resolution ultrasound and results of US-FNAC were tested for diagnostic test.Results:In the differential diagnosis of malignant thyroid,the specificity,sensitivity and accuracy of US-FNAC were 87.5%,96.9% and 95.0%.Conclusion:Compared with high resolution ultrasound,the accuracy of US-FNAC are higher in the diagnosis of malignant thyroid nodules.US-FNAC is a valuable method in the defferential diagnosis of benign and malignant tumors in thyroid nodules.
