Journal: The Chinese Journal of Human Sexuality

Abstract: Objectives:To analyze the correlation of cognitive state of sexual activity with health education and education level for primiparae.Methods:183 primiparae treated from January 2012 to April 2016 in our obstetrical department were selected.Through questionnaire, their general data, cognition of sexual activity and health education was investigated to analyze their cognitive state of sexual activity, awareness rate and demand rate on the health education.Results:74.9% of primiparae thought the sexual activity was available during the pregnancy. The awareness rate of matters needing attention, common problems and countermeasures was below 50%.With the higher education level, the awareness rate increased (P < 0.05).The health education demand rate on "the influence of sexual activity on infant and moms" was 79.8% (146/183);the demand rate on the "matters needing attentions concerning sexual activity" was 50.8% (93/183);the demand rate on the "common problems and countermeasures" was 56.3% (103/183).The demand rate of health education had a positive correlation with patients' education level,i.e.the higher the education level was,the higher the demand rate was (P < 0.05).Conclusion:The majority of primiparae hold a scientific attitude towards sexual activity during the pregnancy;however, there is a high demand for the knowledge of common problems and contermeasures.
