Abstract: Objective To summarize the clinical application of azithromycin in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia. Methods The traditional treatment methods of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia were found out through analyzing the domestic and foreign literature and related data. The difference between azithromycin and traditional method was compared, and the effects of routine therapy , sequential therapy and combination therapy were analyzed . Results Erythromycin was used in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia, but with the in-depth study found that it could not completely remove mycoplasma, and children had strong gastrointestinal response, but prolong use could damage the liver function of children, and induced phlebitis and vasospasm. Azithromycin was macrolide antibiotic, it had special pharmacokinetics. It was widely used in the clinical treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia, and its clinical efficacy was better. Conclusion The use of azithromycin in children with mycoplasma pneumonia has made significant progress. In particular, sequential treatment has been widely used, and the cure rate of children is significantly improved. However, because of the complicated pathogenesis, it is difficult for single therapy or drugs to improve the condition of disease, so the treatment should be carried out according to the actual situation.
