My dad’s bone cancer has settled very badly in his hips. He’s going in on Monday for radiation therapy.

I’m worried because he lives alone and he doesn’t want me to come down to take him to his appointment. He thinks driving 90 minutes to and back on his own after being irradiated is okay.

edit: provided my brand new boss will let me work off site next week, I’m just going down there anyway.

  6. azulmay said: im so sorry maybe you could get some if his friends to teke him?? maybe he doesn’t want to expose you to that experience, alternative can’t he go in an uber if he doesn’t want help?
  7. anvil527up said: It’s not. He needs the help. Agree sooo much with resurrectionofdawn!!
  8. booprenboop said: Oh shoot. Listen as someone who drove her mom back and forth to her radiation, he 100% is going to need someone with him. Especially in the beginning. Both physically and mentally, radiation takes its toll
  9. resurrectionofdawn said: Kick him in the butt (nicely) and tell him radiation is nothing to laugh at. Someone should be with him especially within the first few treatments. He doesn’t want you to see his weakness, so make sure you tell him different. What he says and what he really needs are two different things. No one should do something like this alone.
