Inland Manufacturing announced a new .30 Carbine chambered pistol that it plans to ship in 2018. The new pistol has a design similar to that of the reproduction M1 Carbines the company already makes. However, this gun is definitely different.

Starting off, the gun uses a Sage Enhanced Battle Rifle (EBR) M30-P chassis that was designed just for this handgun. It is made of aluminum and has a black hard coat anodized finish. Up front, the chassis has a handguard with Picatinny rails for the addition of accessories. At the back of the chassis is the Gear Head Mod II Tailhook arm brace.

Inland Manufacturing uses a 12″ barrel on this pistol. The barrel is threaded (1/2×28) and ships with a thread protector. According to the company, the 12″ barrel length “delivers excellent ballistics, especially with today’s modern ammunition.” I’ve not done any testing of .30 Carbine ammunition, so I am unable to offer an opinion on this statement. If anyone has tested .30 Carbine ammo out of various barrel lengths, please post the information or a link in the comments below. I’d be interested in seeing your data.

The magazines are M1 Carbine compatible, and Inland Manufacturing ships the gun with a single 10-round magazine. Standard capacity magazines can be purchased easily from the usual websites and local dealers.

The MSRP of this new pistol is $1,699. I’m not sure how large the interest will be in the M30-P at this price.
