The high-action futuristic Western from the writer of THE FLASH and the creator of Empty Zone kicks into high gear! Keaton has managed to get Vic out of Los Angeles, but the trouble is only just starting. The mysterious Boss Burns knows the precious cargo that Vic is carrying, and he wants it for himself. He’s put a price on the women’s heads, and now all of the nastiest gangs of the frozen American wasteland are barreling down on them, guns drawn and ready to claim the prize.
Great series that has a setting that has unlimited potential. I'm a little disappointed that this is a limited series that is ending shortly. This issue has a mad max feel as the heroes are chased by raiders. The characters suffer a loss much like with every issue leaving them vulnerable to the enemies who are just behind them.
'Frostbite #3' by Joshua Williamson with art by Jason Shawn Alexander continues to icy trek up the coast of California. What this series has taught me so far is that I shouldn't get too attached to characters.
This time around we learn of people that are trying to find and stop Vic. They are headed up by a vicious guy named Boss Burns. This sends some crazy gangs after the lumbering snow truck. A show down is approaching fast, and Keaton finds herself right in the middle of it.
This continues to be a fun take on a dystopian future. There are similarities this time around with some wacky gangs, but I still enjoyed the story. Williamson keeps seeming to write his characters into a corner, so it's fun and nerve wracking to read this series. The art continues to impress, but it must be a pain to draw all that snow.
I received a review copy of this issue from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this issue.
We get to meet the main bad guy, Fuego's employer, Boss Burns. He is infected with Frostbite and has a bug bounty set on Victoria Bonham, believing she is close to a cure. He also orders an investigation for her father's death. Keaton's group is attacked as they travel in the wilderness by bounty hunters (how seem to be taken right out of Mad Max).
