The night Britain broke down...

I need help with this. I believe there has been a Government Conspiracy to conceal the facts from the British public. All I can say is this....The Republic of Ireland were playing Italy at soccer in the World Cup finals (I think it was in the USA) If anyone can track that date down then we know which night it was for sure....but so many were glued to the screens watching the soccer that few knew what was happening around them. Britain's hospitals were at bursting point!!! The National Health Service was about to call on the Government to declare a National Emergency....something swept over Britain that evening which induced severe breathing difficulties in people from all walks of life...The ambulance service and the hospitals could no longer cope. It didn't make the news....

One year later the Government announced that there had been an 'incident' on that date but they could find no cause for it....it was forgotten and barely made the press. But I would argue that when an entire country has it's resources severly stretched....then something very serious and probably very identifiable is at work.....what was it???? Help please...I'd like to get to the bottom of this.

Sorry for the double post but Damn I'm good...found the date!!! June 18th 1994...now all we need to know is what happened. Ireland actually beat Italy that night which made sensational headlines all over the world as the Italians are renowned for their soccer skills....did it push the 'real event' of the night out of the media or was it covered up??? So many questions.

Sorry Andrew but getting to the bottom of this one is no easy matter....the Government (One year later) released their findings on the matter with minimum fuss as well as doing it on a bank holiday rendering 'no findings' available for the media to purchase from Her Majesty's Stationers. I remember a BBC broadcast from the time (One year later) suggesting that Britain had fallen foul of Toxic poisoning from Europe but there was nothing to substantiate this.

Quite simply this is one of our best kept secrets....what really happened that night? It's no 'pick it up off the shelf' conspiracy either...there's so much to find out and so little ANYWHERE about it.

In fact it could well be that this forum is the first place it has been 'flagged up'...the only conection between those who had been hospitalised was exposure to the night air from being outside. But this stretched from the South East of England all the way to the North of Scotland and affected no other country in Europe as far as I'm aware.

, I have searched the web, for articles relating from the weather to epidemic diseases, for the dates given. but I cannot find anything related for that date, however I do remember it was around that time that I began to have stomach problems which I am still being treated for today, at the time I put it down to tap water (even today I will not drink tap water unless it has been boiled, hence my addiction to tea), but it may well of been airborne, so care to share your theory

Sorry Apache but that's the problem....no one can formulate a reasonable theory because the Government of the day would not even alert the country that there was a problem. There is nothing that I can find anywhere . I'm relying on the BBC News of the period (One year later) to maintain my sanity!! LOL I did not 'dream this'. I was at University at the time the Govt announced their findings and it coincided with many other reports but I was studying The Sociology of Health at the time and took a particular interest in this. I sat back and waited for Greenpeace, The different agencies and the like to make statements and NOTHING HAPPENED!!!!!

I was hoping that maybe someone on this forum worked in the NHS and remembered that night for some anecdotal/subjective experience of what went on. It's a real tough nut to crack....but somewhere buried in Hansard has to be a statement from a Minister...I'm still searching the Web but I will find out more. It is no exaggeration that the BBC reported the country was balancing on National Emergency status that night but as admissions slowed down into hospitals in the early morning they decided that whatever had happened was now passing. The connection in my head was that when I checked the date of the event it coincided with that particular football match...PS There was also an earthquake if memory serves me well on that date in LA and a state of Emergency was declared there, so quite a few things 'Conspired' to keep it away from the media.

Did you read the above??? I'm still ploughing through heaps of Hansard's even as we speak.......Oh it happened alright....but then it wouldn't be a conspiracy or even interesting if we knew that for sure eh? I'll find it...it might take me some time but I'll find it....someone answered a direct question in the House of Commons...it has to be in Hansard.

I dont remember anything of the sort.

Then again, i am 100% positive i was indoors at that point. None of my family had any problems either.

if the game was played in the uS where was it played. Often I know Stanford hosts games like this. I live in the San Francisco bay area and would be frightened to know that something close to me like this happened. Whats weird is I remember on the news about a pandemic scare right around that time. The news talked about how an s-load of people went to the hospital complaining of upper respitory problems.

You have to understand 2 things here. In the 1950s-70s it is well documented that the CIA had sprayed chemicals into school yards in the San Francisco area to test its effects on the children. Our own Government used us kids as guinie pigs for their experiments.

I remember janet reno disclosing this information as well as how the Government purposly exposed military men to radiation and they came down with lukimia and other diseases related to radiation like thyroid problems years later.

Also, In San Francisco.. the cancer rate is 4 times higher then anywhere else in the US.

so I always wonder what the hell is happening.

However, Im not surprised the NHS almost burst... its not particularly good at anything.. ever.

this wasnt in america it was in the uk, but it was the same night that ireland played italy at "soccer" in the usa 1994 world cup.

Funny thing is though Chrisdave...the more I research it...the more there appears to have been problems in America that night too....I just haven't posted them here as it may skew people away from what happened in Britain...this is getting very weird.

Releases of toxic waste into the atmosphere....ya know I really don't want to sound like an absolute nutcase (I'll settle for simple nutcase) but it's almost like anyone who produced toxic waste that night decided to dump it into the air!
