The Founder Trailer

The Weinstein Company has released a second trailer for The Founder, from director John Lee Hancock, starring Oscar nominee Michael Keaton as McDonald's founder Ray Kroc. This was delayed from release in August, but has been earning great buzz from early screenings. The story is actually about how Kroc sort of "stole" the burger business from the McDonald brothers, played by Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch, who originally came up with the idea for a fast food burger joint in the 1950s. Also starring Laura Dern, Linda Cardellini, Patrick Wilson and B.J. Novak. TWC also just announced the film is playing in one theater in Los Angeles this week for Oscar qualification, before eventually (re-)opening in January.

Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for John Lee Hancock's The Founder, direct from YouTube:

The Founder Poster

Written by Robert Siegel (Big Fan), The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire. The Founder is directed by American filmmaker John Lee Hancock, of The Rookie, The Alamo, The Blind Side and Saving Mr. Banks previously. The screenplay is written by Robert D. Siegel based on the true story of Ray Kroc. The Weinstein Company will release The Founder in theaters nationwide starting January 20th, 2017 early next year. Worth seeing?

Man I love Michael Keaton. So glad he's gotten a resurgence of popularity, he's easily one of the most versatile actors around.

So psyched to see this. Every one looks like they are turning in awesome performances. I get a THERE WILL BE BLOOD meets the Coen Brothers kind of feel.

Wow... this guy is so good! It's crazy to think how well natural comedic actors do over a the span of a career. Really cool to see that they have it in opening in LA for Oscar contention.

I don't like McDonalds. Never did. However, Michael Keaton is something that gets better and better ...
