Rumor Roundup (July 27, 2016): Roman Reigns plans, John Cena schedule, Randy Orton promo, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Although Raw this week made it obvious, Dave Meltzer is saying WWE is moving away from pushing Roman Reigns as a top guy "for the time being."
  • It looks like John Cena is going to miss the first SmackDown brand PPV, Backlash, next month.
  • According to the Observer, Randy Orton's "no enhancement needed" line at Battleground in regards to Brock Lesnar was planned all along.
  • Sasha Banks vs. Bayley is a future feud WWE is already laying the groundwork for and it could be the planned match for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, considering the location and all the history between the two.
  • There has been some word going around that Kurt Angle has a deal in place with WWE but Dave Meltzer has said that's not the case just yet.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
