Comic-Con attendees can get a side of magic with their coffee this weekend.
The Hilton Bayfront Starbucks has completely transformed into a Harry Potter–themed wonderland in honor of the pop culture massive in San Diego. Just steps away from the convention center, customers in need of a caffeine boost enter the Starbucks attached to the hotel through a brick wall reminiscent of the entrance to Platform 9 3/4 on the way to the Hogwarts Express. And the magic doesn’t stop there.

Once inside the coffee shop, there are enough decorations and Easter eggs to please any Harry Potter diehard fan. From a boggart hiding in the trash can, to a jug of gillywater next to the pickup counter, the amount of detail that went into decorating the Starbucks is a complete joy for the Comic-Con weary.

There’s even a warning painted inside for all Muggleborns to heed carefully: “The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir … beware.”
But it’s not all superficial decorations. This magical Starbucks is also offering Harry Potter-themed drinks for purchase, from Polyjuice Potion (matcha lemonade) to Amortentia (passion tea and apple juice) to Butterbeer (caramel toffeenut frappacino).

And that’s not even the best part. While taking a break from the convention center madness, guests can enjoy two different Harry Potter movies playing at once: one playing inside the store and one playing outside by the tables. While I was on the scene, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was playing inside while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 just finished on the TV outside.
Whether you’re in the mood for a little Harry Potter detour or you’re just in need some coffee and snacks, this Starbucks should be your destination. No portkey required.
