An army of Juggalos descended on Bushwick last night as Insane Clown Posse performed their legendary album The Great Milenko in its entirety as part of the rap duo’s current American tour. The setting was the large back lot at the Well, so it was an outdoor show, and though Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope made the crowd wait for over an hour before finally hitting the stage, once they appeared all Faygo-spraying hell broke loose.

The Great Milenko, as any Juggalo family member can tell you, was famously pulled from stores just hours after its initial release in 1997, because the record label’s parent company Disney received complaints about the album’s content from the Southern Baptist Church. The record features such seminal ICP songs as “Down With the Clown,” “Hokus Pokus,” and “What Is a Juggalo?”, and, unsurprisingly, much of the crowd shouted along with all the lyrics to every song. If you’ve never seen Insane Clown Posse live, the communal exuberance of their fans is truly a wonder to behold.

Opening for ICP were Lyte and R.A. The Rugged Man, both of whom did a fine job of holding the Juggalos’ interest before the main act hit the stage around 10:15.
