The Downfall of Catie Bloom

Rate this book
Catie’s little white lies have finally caught up to her...

The award-winning Catelyn Bloom is back! And she’s still got it all. A husband, a successful career, and she's America's #1 Domestic Goddess. Except, it's a big fat lie. She can’t cook, she’s a slob, and her husband left her years ago. But she’s trying to change all that and become an honest woman.

Too bad someone has other ideas for her.

Catie’s life comes crumbling down when she’s outed on national TV by a person she thought she trusted. And in that instant she loses everything. Her job, her sister, and the man she loves — Sam Harding. So much for “the one.” When Catie needs Sam the most he disappears... with his ex. Then two miracles happen: a new man steps into the picture eager to help Catie, and a New York socialite hires Catie to do the one thing Catie’s truly talented at: interior design. The great news: the multi-million dollar loft Catie’s designing will be featured in all the top design magazines. The bad news: Catie has to keep her involvement a secret.

As she tries to find a way to reveal she’s the woman behind the design, Sam returns. And with him comes a twist she never saw coming.

Will Catie find her happily-ever-after or will her big white lies ruin her life forever?

This was enjoyable and the h was a decent person who manages to get her life in order despite her own actions and some major betrayals. The H is kind of a cipher in this book, but it's clear they belong together. Three and a half stars.

This is the third book in the Bloom Sisters series. I have enjoyed so much the first two books and I was looking forward to reading this one. Thank you again, Brooke Stanton for the ARC.

I read back my reviews for the first two books and I was reminded of how much I enjoyed and was irritated by the lies of Catie and the naivety of Natalie. These two have gone far since they first started and now it seems that all that comes up must fall down. And so did Catie Bloom and with her Natalie and Catie's editor. She might also lose her man. What to do now Catie?

In some way, Catie knows that she will have to own up and admit that she's not the expert housewife or the master chef that she claims to be but she just doesn't know when or how. Well, someone did it for her. She was outed on live national television by a person she taught she trusted. That's show business Catie, the ruin of someone is everybody's business and happiness. How will Catie be able to redeem herself and her career? Is there hope for you Miss Bloom?

I think the greatest thing about Catie Bloom is her being resourceful and her talent in interior design. She really is good with making spaces look beautiful even if her own space is as disorganized as her life right now. It also helps that there are people who really know her talent and are willing to help her, though with a little bit of push and motivation. Real talent could not be put down and so it was with Catie. She has to use her talent for interior design to get herself back up and redeem herself. In the end, what really matters is talent and it was also the key for the world for opening up its doors again for Catie. Along with truth and honesty, Catie will rise again from the rubble and become the interior design guru that she really is. And her sister, also is getting the attention and the recognition that she deserves for her talent. Above all, the sisters both learned their lessons. I doubt they will do a repeat.

I give the book 4/5 tv's. I hope this is not the end of the adventures and misadventures of the Bloom sisters. I would like to hear from them more. I think the sisters both redeemed themselves here. In my first two reviews, I was not sure if I liked Catie and in book two I wanted to give Natalie a kick. In this book, these two have slowly wormed their way into my heart. I actually felt sorry for what these two had to go through in this story, but in a way, they saw it coming. Still, no one deserved to be shamed and trolled. Whatever they did, in some way, there was a reason. It just got out of control that they didn't know anymore how to take back whatever lies they had spurted. The lesson in all these is--the truth will definitely bite you back in the ass, where it will absolutely hurt.

I would absolutely love to see these books made into movies. It would be so amazing. Who do you think could play Catie Bloom? Ana Faris would appear to be a good candidate. I really enjoyed the movie "What's your number?". I can already imagine her face in the scene when Catie gets outed.

People don't mind seeing others slip and fall. It makes them feel better about their own lives. Especially when that person gets back up.

As much as I enjoyed the misadventures of Catie Bloom and the adventures of Natalie Bloom the downfall of Catie Bloom was my absolute favorite. What I appreciated most was the relationship between the two sisters. Sometimes, as much as we love one another, there are things that can strain the relationship and it takes work to overcome the obstacles. This was such a great read. I highly enjoyed the entire series.

The chickens have come home to roost for Catie Bloom in this book, the third in the series. Catie, who has “stretched the truth” about her organizational and cooking abilities as well as about her husband (she is a pretty good decorator), is unmasked as a fraud during an interview. Catie’s fans are livid and ready to desert her, but not before hurling vicious comments about her lies on the Internet. Catie is fired from her job at the magazine, and has to accept the fact that her sister Natalie, who had recently been hired as a freelancer at the magazine, is also let go. Later, her trusted friend editor is also let go. Catie languishes over all this, as she tries to figure out whether she still has a life and career. The final, proverbial straw is the knowledge that her current squeeze, Sam, is still enamored about his ex and has allowed her to remain around him all the time, making Catie wonder whether Sam really loves her as much as he says he does and as much as she loves him. Catie goes crazy as in the other two books, through a series of events/actions, directly resulting from her history of lies and her unmasking, while she also tries to figure out where to go from here. In the end as is always the case for this “Bloom” girl, will things once again turn rosy?

As with the other two books, this one is a light, quick read. This one, however, is a tad bit longer that the other two were. Catie is once more the crazy, fun-loving girl of the other books, but her life in this one is not quite as zany or funny as in the other two. Catie just did not seem to have it in this book—and that may be because of the somewhat more serious nature of the plot. I enjoyed watching the two sisters, Catie and Natalie, again act just like sisters. Their resilience and support for each other never ceases to amaze me. I did take exception with the sometimes and somewhat harsh way Catie treated Sam, the love of her life, but this all made more sense at the end of the book. I sincerely hope that this is not the end of this series, as I enjoy reading about Catie and her exploits a lot. Keep them coming, Ms. Stanton! I received this from the author to read and review.

This is the third book in the Bloom sisters series and I liked this one the best. In the previous two books, Catie’s career had taken off with the help of some white lies and her friends. In this book, the lies are brought to light and Catie’s life falls to pieces. She loses her sister, her job and her boyfriend. Is there any way that Catie’s career can come back from this? Is the new man Catie meets who he says he is? Can Catie repair her relationship with her sister, Natalie?

There is good character development in this entire series. Since this is the third book in the series, Catie and Natalie are very well developed characters. I have to say that I was glad to see that Catie’s lies were brought to light and she was made to pay for them. That was something that bothered me from the previous books. There are quite a few twists and turns to the plot and one of them completely took me by surprise. There was a good pace to the story and I didn’t feel like there were any slow spots. Overall, I really enjoyed this entire series.

I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily provided an honest review.

I have to say that I really loved the first two Bloom sisters books, but in my opinion, Catie wasn't nearly as zany and fun as she was in the first two books. Granted, having the worst day in the life of a zany character does cut down on the giggles in a very big way, especially when she's persona non grata everywhere she turns. But face it, Catie has a way of lying to cover her butt when life throws curve balls her way and she's responsible for hurting her friends and destroying their happy lives and successful careers. Of course, since this is a romantic comedy, Catie always comes out smelling like a rose (Bloom, get it?) but I was mortified by the way she treated Sam. He's supposed to be the love of her life and regardless of the circumstances Sam should have held her responsible for her behavior, especially her propensity to believe the very worst about him. I didn't find that funny at all. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Lifestyle columnist Catie Bloom leads a charmed life, or that's what she would have her fans believe. Catie's charmed life is built on a pack of lies and comes tumbling down like a house of cards when she's exposed as a fraud. Catie gets fired from her job, loses her book deal, and her fans turn on her. Catie seeks support from her boyfriend Sam but he's too busy supporting his ex-girlfriend with her issues. Cathie's sister Natalie, who's always been there for her, has her own problems to sort out. Even Catie's mom has no sympathy for Catie and tells her to stand on her own two feet and to stop being a brat. Can Catie overcome the disaster her life has become and make a comeback?

Brooke Stanton delivers a funny, drama-filled and entertaining story full of twists that will have you turning the pages to find out whet happens next.

The Downfall of Catie Bloom by Brooke Stanton is the third book in the Bloom Sisters trilogy . Having read the first two books in the series I expected this third book to be quite good and I was not disappointed, The Downfall of Catie Bloom is by far the best one yet. I loved the way Catie recovers from the devastating loss of her reputation and self-respect. Catie and her sister have hit rock bottom and need to find a way out of their mutual troubles. I love the way Ms. Stanton developed her story-line. This is fabulous book that I highly recommend reading.

I received this book from the author and I am freely posting this fair and balance review.

I really enjoyed this fun quirky story about Catie Bloom. I thought it was very funny because she lied to her fans about being able to cook and organize on her television show. She even had a fake husband in her boyfriend, Sam. I thought it was funny how social media is used in her favor and against her. Catie's relationship with her sister, Natalie and also Catie's relationship with Sam also add some fun elements to this story and I really liked that. I have not read the other two books in this series but I now want to read them. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Catie Bloom is back and this time her lies have caught up with her. This book shows that social media is not always your friend as her life and career spiral out of control, affecting not just her but the lives of her family and friends. Catie is not the most sympathetic of characters but you do feel for her as she tries to figure out who her friends are. Natalie and Max do seem a little unsupportive for people who had helped in the charade.
An interesting book with lots of twists and misunderstandings that lead to a satisfactory conclusion.

Thanks to Brooke Stanton, the author, I received a pre-launch copy of this book. I have to say I enjoyed this book most out of the 3 Bloom Sisters books. In the first one Catie came across as pretty self centred, and in the second one, Natalie seemed so naive, but in this book heir characters really came into their own and shined. All 3 of these books are fun, easy to read romantic comedies - a great way to switch off from the world for a while! I'm looking forward to reading whatever Ms Stanton comes up with next!

The final book in this entertaining trilogy continues the story of the Bloom sisters and provides readers another wild ride. This time, Catie's lies are revealed and her life is in shambles. Can she repair broken relationships and find love in the process?

I enjoyed all three of these books. This book, as were the first two, is well written, a basically clean read, and has some interesting plot twists. All in all, worth your time.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book. My review is voluntary and the opinions my own.

The Downfall of Catie Bloom is the third book in the Bloom Sisters series. It can be read as a standalone, but would be enhanced if read along with the other books. Catie's secret is out. Now she is in the process of dealing with the hurt and trust issues of her past and putting her life back together. When an amazing opportunity presents itself, Catie needs to figure out how to get credit for it. Can she get the recognition she deserves? And what will happen when Sam comes back? A great story.

Loved This Book

Catie Bloom is a bit of a celebrity. Every woman looks up to her and wants to be just like her. But oh what a tangled web we weave when we choose to deceive. Catie Bloom is a liar. When she is found out, her world crashes. And she's about to lose the man she loves. It seems that everyone is out to cash in on her. With her life in ruins, can she fix it? Great story with wonderful, interesting characters. I read it in one evening because I couldn't put it down.

In this series finale, Catie's ruse is up. As she navigates through the mess of getting her life back together, she deals with past hurts, trust issues, and the fact that sometimes, the only one who can save you is yourself. As usual, the Bloom sisters bring their charm and hilarity while they get their lives together and finally earn their HEA.

Allow a full day for the PG15 conclusion to the saga of Catie Bloom when all of the half-truths come home to roost. I had an ARC from Bookfunnel and this voluntary review is my own opinion.

A fun easy read about someone who has gotten herself in over her head with twisting the truth, and has to see if she can get herself back out of the mess unscathed.

In this story, Catie finds herself jobless after her secrets are exposed. She learns a lot about herself in this story.

As for the story itself, I enjoyed it. There was a lot of relationship back and forth between Catie and Sam that was almost too much. I liked the relationships and dialogue between Catie and other characters.

This is the third book in the series and, in my opinion, you will be a bit lost if you haven't read the Misadventures of Catie Bloom.
