Four people were arrested in New York City on Tuesday evening after a firearm was spotted allegedly being used in a threatening manner on a Facebook Live stream.

CBS New York reports that four individuals were taken into custody in relation to the incident at the five star Gramercy Park Hotel on Tuesday evening. Security responded to commotion in the room after one guest claimed to have seen a gun being brandished on a Facebook Live stream coming from inside the room. Hotel security reported that they overheard one guest in the room saying, “Be careful, you don’t want to get shot.”

Security called police, who immediately blocked off two blocks around the hotel as they entered the building to apprehend the suspects. One hotel guest said, “We saw a lot of activities; cops around. As soon as we wanted to get into the hotel, I heard something about a gun.”

Officers from the NPYD 13th Precinct’s anti-terrorism team lead the way in the investigation, forcing the hotel room door open and arresting four suspects without incident. Both a man and a woman were seen in handcuffs outside of the hotel shortly after the arrests.

The firearm that was seen in the Facebook Live stream, however, was simply a BB gun.

The suspects that were apprehended were questioned late on Tuesday evening, but no charges have been filed at this time according to a police source.
