Although news of Yeoh’s casting first broke last week, CBS has now confirmed that she is among the first actors to join the next Star Trek TV show.

CBS has announced that, alongside Yeoh, Doug Jones (Buffy, Hellboy, and many more) and Broadway star Anthony Rapp (Rent), will join the series. Yeoh will indeed play the previously rumored captain of the Federation starship Shenzou—although her character’s name is now Captain Georgiou, rather than Han Bo as reported by Deadline. Jones will play Lieutenant Saru, a Starfleet science officer (not attached to any particular ship in question) that is a member of an alien species new to the franchise. Rapp will play Lieutenant Stamets, a science officer on the U.S.S. Discovery that specializes in an astromycology—that’s space fungus, to you and me.

No other details about the roles were revealed, but we can apparently expect to hear more casting from Discovery in the coming days. Star Trek: Discovery is currently set to premiere in May 2017.
