Magic Candy Factory Has Celebrities Psyched About 3D Printed Selfies & Autographs

Katjes Magic Candy Factory, founded by Melissa Snover, is showing us the fun side of 3D printing.

Snover was behind the idea for the Magic Candy Factory 3D printer, which we have reported on several times as it has launched around the world, from Dubai to Dublin to New York City. While adults are having wild fun with this already, one can just imagine how thrilled kids will be to get their hands on this device that not only pumps out gummy candy (what could be better?), but in your own likeness, or someone else’s.

“We are so excited to start inspiring the UK with our magical creations,” stated Snover.

The Magic Candy Factory allows excited customers to choose one of eight flavors, which is then rolled out in a custom design right in front of them. Celebrities have been getting in on the action too, adding to the instant popularity of the 3D printer and its confections.

From Tom Hiddleston to Elijah Wood, new fans of the innovative little machine have enjoyed everything from the selfie option to seeing their autographs in delicious 3D print using a specialized laser. Stover and her team were busy showing off their new technology and novelty candies at the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex recently.

“The machine really is at the forefront of innovation in the 3D printing and confectionery world,” said Stover. “Katjes Magic Candy started out with an idea that I had last year and it’s incredible to see it here in real life printing out sweets; it really is a magical experience.”

Not only can you choose to see yourself in print before you chomp your goodies down, but also print other gummy options such as animals. And even if you have specific dietary requirements, Katjes has you covered.

“I wanted to make sure everyone is able to enjoy Magic Candy so we’ve developed the sweets to be vegan, vegetarian and suitable for Halal and Kosher diets,” said Stover.

“The sweets are also all made with natural colors and flavors from real fruit and vegetable extracts.”
