Paul Pogba returned to Manchester United from Juventus in a whopping £89m deal this summer

The super agent brokered the France international’s £89m switch this summer.

And he received a cool £24.1m of that figure having negotiated a sweet deal for himself when Pogba originally move from the Red Devils to Juventus four years ago.

Shortly after Jose Mourinho unveiled his star signing though, Raiola seemed to suggest the terms of the transfer may not have been totally above board.

Super agent Mino Raiola negotiated Paul Pogba's return from Juventus to Manchester United

"I can’t talk about the contract but, in a deal like Pogba’s, it’s not just the clubs who earn from it," he said.

And asked if he received a fee from Juventus, he added: "No — not in the way that you’re saying it.

"I have to see how I can phrase this in a way that Juventus cannot tackle me through the law, let’s say. Hmm. How can I say it? Yes: in this deal Juventus was not the only owner of the player’s rights.

"It’s not TPO [Third Party Ownership]. Be careful with the legal definition of TPO. But let’s say that in that case there was an upside for our side. And by our side, I mean the player’s side."

TPO was outlawed by FIFA in 2015 and Raiola’s allusion to something similar potentially having occurred sparked concern.

However, the Daily Mirror say he will not face any disciplinary action over his role in August’s world-record agreement.

And that may have come as a comfort to Manchester United, given the fact they could have been embroiled in a scandal had TPO been at play.

Their Premier League rivals West Ham bore the brunt of severe flak having signed Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez in controversial circumstances, involving TPO, back in 2006.

The Hammers were eventually fined £5.5m, but escaped a points deduction.
