Criminal complaints say Hernandez-Ventura struck all three victims with a machete, with each victim suffering numerous lacerations causing blood loss.

Hernandez-Ventura was charged earlier with attempted murder in connection with Tejeda's injuries.

Perry police officials said that they could not confirm the death as of 10 p.m. Saturday.
