Hysteroscopic resection with curettage in the treatment of multiple endometrial polyps

Abstract: Objectives:To explore the clinical efficacy of endometrium hysteroscopic resection combined with curettage in the treatment of multiple endometrial polyps.Methods:84 patients diagnosed of multiple endometrial polyps in our hospital from March 2014 to September 2015 were selected and randomized into observation group and control group,42 patients in each group.Observation group received hysteroscopic resection combined curettage for treatment while control group received only hysteroscopic resection.The operative time,intraoperative situation,hospitalization time,improvements in the conditions of menstruation and recurrence of the disease were compared between the two groups.Results:There was no significant difference between the two groups in operating time(P ＞ 0.05).The average blood loss and average length of hospital stay were significantly less in the observation group than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).The improvement in menstrual cycles and amount in the observation group after treatment was better than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).The total recurrence rate of postoperative disease in the observation group (4.8％) was significantly lower than that in the control group (21.4％) (x2 =5.13,P =0.02).Conclusion:Compared with single hysteroscopic resection,joint use of endometrium hysteroscopic resection and curettage is with better efficacy,which can significantly improve the menstruation and reduce the recurrence rate,thusly worthy of clinical promotion.
