The hotly-anticipated debut of the first full-length trailer for upcoming Disney live-action remake "Beauty and the Beast" didn't disappoint, with sumptuous cinematography, lots of looks at the curious characters populating the film, and plenty of focus on Emma Watson and Dan Stevens's titular pair. So it should come as no surprise, then, that the clip has smashed the record for most views of a film trailer in 24 hours.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Beauty" scored a whopping 127.6 million views across multiple platforms and around the world, easily topping the previous champ, "Fifty Shades Darker." Back in September, the first "Darker" trailer debuted to an impressive 114 million views in its first 24 hours online, besting the last record holder, the full-length trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which racked up 112 million views on its first day of release.

What's especially impressive about "Beauty" is that it continues to generate enormous buzz, which only seems to be growing as time goes by. Its very first promo clip, which debuted back in May, was also a record-breaker, snatching the teaser trailer title away from "The Force Awakens" with 91.8 million views, versus its fellow Disney property's 88 million. (Though a bit confusing, these are indeed two separate records, with one citing the most-viewed longer -- a.k.a. full-length -- trailer, and the other highlighting shorter, teaser-length trailers.)

Be our guest and check out the popular clip again for yourself below. "Beauty and the Beast" is due in theaters on March 17, 2017.[via: Entertainment Weekly]
