Crafting
Part of the player freedom in Skyrim is offered through the Items, Weapons, and Armor that you make by specializing in certain crafting skills.
Do you want to mix items together in hopes of producing powerful potions and poisons? That's Alchemy. You can even build your own battle-honed armor for the great battles against Dragons with Smithing. How about imbuing magical properties in said armor? Enchanting has got you covered there.
Crafting Tips
Buy or make Crafting Potions that increase your Smithing skill and Enchanting Skill for a brief period of time (30 seconds). This works best when all your crafting skills are at 100, with max armor production and most of the skill trees filled in. You can skip on poisions section in Alchemy but pick up the bonus from positive potions. This process revolves around using Alchemy to boost Enchanting. Then using Enchanting to Boost your Armor with Enchantments that Boost both Alchemy and Smithing. Or you can settle for buying or finding the potions in loot. Basically you repeat this process as your character progresses through the game or you can do this all at once if you have tons of filled soul crystals and materials (iron, gems, etc.).
Echanting will not let you boost enchanting on armor. But using Potions will allow you to Boost the Enchanting skill for 30 seconds. Spriggan Sap, Hagraven Claws, Blue Butterfly Wings, all boost Enchanting in a potion for 30 seconds. You then Enchant jewelry with dual Enchantments for both Smithing and Alchemy. Alchemy then in turn Boosts your Enchantments. For example, you can make a Necklace that increases Alchemy by 47%(Max) with potions boosting Enchanting by 37%(Max).
With this method you can Enchant 4 pieces of Armor with this 47% increase for Smithing, with a Smithing Potion that adds another 37% for a total of over 225%. Add in the fact that you have maxed out the Smithing Skill and you will have an Daedric Weapon that is extremely powerful even before enchantments.
Potions with more than one effect, with 3 being really, really expensive no matter the effects your Alchemy skill will increase very, very quickly. If you have no interest in making poisions for weapons, add together potions with that contain negative effects for quick leveling of Alchemy and tons of money, since most of these potions are worth a lot.
