Following on from the Neo Geo related Arcade Archives on the Switch, we now have classic Nintendo arcade games to look forward to on the new console.

The Arcade Archives line is not one unique to the Switch and is also available on the PS4 and Xbox One. However, these newly announced Nintendo arcade game ports will be exclusive to the Switch.

Starting off with Mario Bros. on September 27, we also have the following games to look forward to after that; VS. Super Mario Bros., VS. Balloon Fight, VS. Ice Climber, VS. Pinball, VS. Clu Clu Land and Punch-Out!!

The thing here though is that Nintendo’s arcade gaming catalog isn’t exactly that big. What’s more, we had all hoped that the Neo Geo games while great were meant as a stopgap until Virtual Console came along.

So while it is nice that we have some classic Nintendo arcade games on the way for the Switch, we still know nothing about what is happening with Virtual Console.

The first of these Nintendo Arcade Archives, in the form of Mario Bros., is released for the Switch on September 27 with more to follow thereafter. However, there is currently no word on pricing but I cannot imagine these games will be overly expensive.
