Wind Advisory In Effect, Power Outages Possible In Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow

The arrival of a cold front late Saturday evening will bring with it a chance of snow showers and snow farther north along with gusty winds that could cause power outages.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday for Southern Westchester where winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.

Strong winds may bring down limbs, trees and power lines. Minor property damage and scattered power outages are possible.

Rain is expected after midnight Sunday, with a chance of showers through 8 a.m., followed by a chance of rain and snow showers.

Sunday's high will be in the low 40s with the wind-chill factor making it feel more like between 25 and 30 degrees, with winds between 20 and 30 mph and gusts up to 48 mph during the day. The overnight low will be around 30.

There is a chance of rain, snow showers and some snow before 1 a.m. Monday in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland, then a chance of snow showers through 11 a.m. in what will be a mostly cloudy day. Little or no accumulation is expected.

Dutchess County could see a half inch of snow accumulation overnight Sunday into Monday.

Monday's high will be between 41 and 43 degrees with wind-chill values between 20 and 30 degrees.
