Blasphemy #2

Mastering Her Senses

Rate this book
He wants to dominate her senses—and her heart…

Quinton Ross has always been a thrill-seeker—so it’s no surprise that he’s drawn to extremes in the bedroom and at his BDSM club, Blasphemy, where he creates sense-depriving scenarios that blow submissives’ minds. Now if he could just find one who needs the rush as much as him…

Cassia Locke hasn’t played at Blasphemy since a caving accident left her with a paralyzing fear of the dark. Ready to fight, she knows just who to ask for help—the hard-bodied, funny-as-hell Dom she’d always crushed on—and once stood up.

Quinton is shocked and a little leery to see Cassia, but he can’t pass up the chance to dominate the alluring little sub this time. Introducing her to sensory deprivation becomes his new favorite obsession, and watching her fight fear is its own thrill. But when doubt threatens to send her running again, Quinton must find a way to master her senses—and her heart.

description Very eye catching cover for this book. Nicely laid out. With good use of color, graphics, and text. It's also an excellent representation of the story within. description

descriptionTwo years ago Cassia Locke was in an accident that left her afraid of the dark. Tired of being afraid Cassie heads to the BDSM club Blasphemy to overcome her fear once and for all. A panic attack ends with her in the arms of Quinton Ross. The sexy as sin Dom she stood up two years prior.

Quinton Ross loves to play sensory games with his subs, and when he is called down to help out with a sub having a panic attack, no one is more surprised than Quinton when he realizes it's Cassia Locke the little sub who bailed on him. Cassia has demons, and Quinton wants to be the one to help her overcome them.

What starts off as a no strings attached agreement quickly becomes more for both. Can these two take a leap of faith and find an HEA with each other? I guess you'll just have to read and find out. ;D

OMG, this book was SO sweet! Quinton and Cassia were ADORABLE together. I mean how can you NOT love a hunky Dom described as looking like Chris Pratt?

It was a relatively quick read. Well-written and nicely paced. The sex scenes were SMOKIN' HOT (that jacuzzi scene WOWZA.) Very low on angst with no OW/OM drama. Interesting secondary characters as well. I haven't read the first book in this series (I will be soon), but I wasn't lost in the least. Unfortunately NO epilogue but as this is an ongoing series I imagine we will see this couple throughout upcoming books, so I was OK with that.

Overall just a really enjoyable way to spend a couple hours. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

While I really enjoyed the last story in this series, I found this one a little harder to link with. The characters didn't have the chemistry and development I expected. Quinton didn't really come across as the hardcore dom he was purported to be. Cassia was alright but nothing stood out for me. The plot felt like it had potential, but it didn't quite get there in my opinion. I won't say that it was bad, because it wasn't. It was just not something I found a connection with. I'll probably still continue the series because as I said, there have been others that I've really liked.

3* hide n seek STARS!

I was impressed by the author's previous book, Bound to Submit. Laura Kaye really did amazing job to bring out BDSM without over-exaggerating and that's why I'll keep reading this series. Unfortunately, Mastering Her Senses ended up just okay for me.

Since Quinton Ross inspired from Chris Pratt based on the author, I kept imagined Pratt's face as a dominant when I read this book. I just couldn't help feeling giddy for Master Quinton. He specialize in sensory deprivation. Quinton has easy-going attitude. I bet he's a wonderful and caring master.

Cassia Locke traumatized with the darkness because of her car accident. When Quinton found her in need guidance, he didn't hesitate to offer the help with no strings attached. Quinton really fulfill his role as a dominant and guide her with patient. He also has wicked talent to push Cassia out of her comfort zone. It was crazily sexy.
Right now, you’re blinded by fear in the darkness. I’m going to blind you with pleasure.
description

Mostly half of this book happened in the club. It was all about their scenes. But it didn't stop there. They went outside BDSM as a 'friends' which was a lie. They already attached to each other. It isn't much to know about Quinton but Cassia has an intriguing job as a geologist. Anyway, their mundane life didn't interest me much. I liked their chemistry better in BDSM scenes than the real life.
“You want to be fucked, Cassia? Where anyone might hear us? Where anyone might see us? Out here in the darkness?”
“Yes, Sir,” she said, her voice thick with lust.
“Yes, Sir, what?”
“Yes, I want to get fucked. Right here. In the open. In the dark.”

Beside the chemistry issues, I hardly enjoy the story. No excitement. The plot was promising but there is no emotions also slow paced. After several BDSM scenes together, Cassia still has trust issue and run off. Very mature, huh. Also I didn't like how Quinton turns into ooey-gooey sweet talks and rushed their 'relationship' in the ending. Definitely insta-love for me. Overall, it was a good BDSM read for anyone wants to expand their kink. Just no for the romance.

Mastering Her Senses by Laura Kaye is one mega hot novel that will leave you breathless.

I picked this book up as apart of the anthology A Love Thing - I was told by the amazing author Tamsen Parker that the anthology book (full of tons of sexy ebooks) was free on Amazon, so I picked it up. I had already read Tamsen's books and loved it, so I figured her book Personal Geography had to be alongside some books similar that I might enjoy. Luckily, I was right!

I really enjoyed this novel! It was fast paced, super sexy and kept me interested and hooked to every word! I love a sexy, erotic novel but I tend to get bored easily (which is one of my biggest flaws as a reader). Laura Kaye mixes the perfect amount of drama, sexy scenes and excitement in this book.

We are introduced to Cassia, who is a submissive, and Quinton (Q) who is a dominant. Now, that's all fine and dandy and your typical BDSM trope, but Laura has more instore for us - Q likes sensory deprivation. Yup, that's right. I have honestly never read a book in regards to that subject before, so this was a new adventure for me (and it was a crazy, sexy adventure that was so totally worth it!). The premise was interesting, and it makes this book stand out among other erotica novels.

Side note: This book is the second in the series, but I have not read the first one as of writing this review. The book was easily understood without having to read the first novel.

I also found the book to just be long enough. It ended where you'd like it to in terms of the story telling - there wasn't any more information I wanted out of the book, and I didn't feel like it had been cut short. The book is also super sweet and leaves at an ending that made me feel all happy and ooey gooey inside.

Overall, this book is epic! I love Laura Kaye's writing in this book and I 100% want to read more ASAP! It's a must read from me!!

I definitely want to read more by Laura Kaye! I might have found a new favourite author out of this anthology (and I'm only on the first book, so I'm sure I'll find some more authors to read after I finished!).

PS Thanks to Tamsen Parker for suggesting I pick up this anthology!!

Great second book. These women have pasts to overcome that I've not encountered before. I'm loving these new histories and circumstances. The Doms are just amazing doing extra research to make sure everything is perfect, and of course, beating themselves up when things don't go as planned.

Cassia (her brother is Jagger from the Raven Riders, love it when series overlap) and Quinton were supposed to do a scene two years ago when tragedy struck her. Now they've reconnected and are smoking together. Small bits of angst for both of them before HEA.

Looking forward to Wolf and Olivia's story

I am so relieved to say, I liked this a lot!! Quinton and Cassia were so sweet and sexy together. Both very likable characters. Both very happy, fun loving thrill seekers that were so much more than kinky sex. But that kinky sex was pretty hot!

We get a short visit with the Raven Riders. Cass is Jagger's little sister. This book made me smile. It made me feel relieved, and happy. Thanks, LK for not letting me down. The only little problem was that the ending was a little bit abrupt. Otherwise, very good. Happy reading!

WHOA! Holy Hotness!!! This was one hot tamale, sexy read. Mastering Her Senses is part of a Blasphemy series. Quinton is a master Dom at the Blasphemy club. Cassia was supposed to meet with Quinton at the club but she never showed up. A couple of years later, Cassia revisited the club hoping to reunite with Quinton. Cassia is having difficulty this time around with some of the scenes because of an accident she suffered a couple years prior. Master Quinton is determined to help Cassia overcome her fears … little does he know that he will fall in love with Cassia in the process. I love these characters. Quinton is all alpha, dominant, sexy. Cassia is a sweet, slightly broken submissive but no worries there … Quinton was by her side every step of the way... wink wink… The author did an awesome job with the chemistry and attraction between the characters and the sex scenes – sensual, erotic – BDSM at its finest for sure. If you are looking for something short and sweet, low drama, sexy, sensual - I recommend this one.

Mastering Her Senses was the second book in the Blasphemy series by Laura Kaye.

Quinton Ross was a sexy co-owner of the Blasphemy, a BDSM club, and Master of sensory deprivation.

Cassia Locke had survived a cave accident where she was trapped in the dark for days; however, she was still suffering panic attacks related to darkness. She attempted to conquer the fear by participating in a dark room scene at Blasphemy; however, it backfired.

Quinton and Cassia had a little history where she stood him up a few years ago when they were supposed to do a scene together. He hadn’t heard from her since then until he was responding to an emergency in the dark room where he found Cassia in the middle of a panic attack.

Mastering Her Senses was a quick and light read. Although the main story was the relationship development, the secondary story focused on Cassia overcoming her fear to live a normal life. Quinton helped her by doing just that, mastering her senses. It was aptly named and was a journey of healing and new beginnings.

Kaye also did a great job of introducing additional Masters and co-owners in the club, which set the stage perfectly for future books in the series. Additionally, we were introduced to Cassia’s Brother, Jagger, who was a member of the Raven Riders MC. Not only will I complete the Blasphemy series, but I’ll now also explore the Raven Riders series as well.

All in all, Mastering Her Senses was a short book and as such, I desired more depth and dimension to the storyline. It was void of drama, which can be refreshing at times, but it still needed more. Otherwise, it was enjoyable and entertaining. Eyes on You is up next.

Mastering Her Senses by Laura Kaye is an enticing, raw, and sexual erotic romance that touches on the subject of BDSM. Though this series deals with a group of Masters and their submissives, Laura Kaye provides readers with a glimpse of the physical and emotional connection that blooms between a Master and his submissive.

#MasteringHerSenses

Quinton Ross is one of the Masters that owns Blasphemy and who has a thing for sensory deprivation scenes. He loves knowing that his subs can trust and rely on his guidance as he awakens and fulfills their sexual needs, wants, cravings and desires.

Cassia Locke hasn’t played in Blasphemy for two years since her accident. Wanting to try again, Cassia tries to overcome her fear of the darkness with the help of Master Quinton. It is then when they both agree to their terms, that Master Quinton and Cassia begins to develop a deeper stronger emotional and sexual bond with one another. As Quinton helps Cassia overcome her fears, will he too also be awaken to the realization that Cassia is the one? The only one that he wants to play with.

I absolutely love this Blasphemy Series by Laura Kaye. I love the complex characters and their need for BDSM whether it be light or hardcore. And in the case of Mastering Her Senses, I love the fact the Laura Kaye touches on the subject of trust in a whole new level as she showcases Cassia learning to trust Quinton with her fears. So if you are looking for a light erotic romance read that intertwines passion, trust, and love then I highly recommend you to read this steamy and raw story of Cassia and Master Quinton.

I enjoyed this book. I liked it nowhere as much as the previous book in the series, though. What can I say, but that I love the angst? This one had low angst (unlike the previous). The characters were sweet and emotionally mature, which I appreciated. I had read a few NA’s with impulsive MC’s so these books are a nice change of paces There were some really hot scenes. It was nice catching up with the couple from the previous book in this one. I’m loving the setting of these books. Wonder if such a magical place as Blasphemy actually exists?

Quinton is a Dom, and one of the owners of Club Blasphemy. Cassia is submissive that he previously had an eye on before she went MIA from the scene. They both notice chemistry brewing, as he attempts to use his skill to help work through residual effects from an accident, still holding her back.

The Good:
1. The romance is very sweet for a BDSM themed read.
2. Though book 2 in this series, I had no problem starting with this book. It works as a standalone.

The Bad:
1. I prefer a little more tension in my stories.
2. My own religious upbringing pinged this club being set up in a former church very wrong. What in the Luciferian hell is this madness?

Final Thoughts:
If you are looking for BDSM lite, with low angst levels, this might be worth a look. I think the raving so many do about this author, set my expectations a little too high, which affected my rating.

After a horrible accident a couple of years ago Cassia is petrified of the dark and it's affecting her life in all kinds of negative ways, even down to stopping her from doing the job she has always loved. Desperate to overcome her fears she turns to Blasphemy, the club she used to be a member in the hope of working through her fears with the help of a Dom. Quinton is the club's expert when it comes to sensory deprivation and when he sees how much Cassia is struggling because of her phobia he becomes determined to help her get past her issues.

I knew I was going to love Quinton after his appearances in the previous books in the series but I fell for him even harder than I expected to. He's the perfect combination of in control alpha in the bedroom and fun loving guy outside of it. He's a bit of an adrenaline junkie and loves to push his limits in all kinds of ways and that is just what Cassia needed. I love that the characters in this series are able to use their kink to help them deal with other issues but that Laura Kaye never uses sex as an easy answer to all their problems. Quinton uses pleasure to change Cassia's perception of the dark and it works brilliantly but it doesn't magically take her fears away and that's something she'll have to keep working on.

Mastering Her Senses has some incredibly hot scenes (probably some of the hottest from the series so far!) but we also get to see Quinton and Cassia spend time together outside of the bedroom at the Raven Rider's race track with Cassia's brother Jagger (who will hopefully get a book in the other series). I loved every minute of this story and I thought both of the characters were brilliant but if anything I would have loved to spend a little more time with them. I think if we could have had a couple more chapters their romance would have felt a little less rushed. Don't get me wrong these two are perfect for each other and I loved the way Quinton cared for Cassia but their HEA came a little quickly, it was totally believable but could have been even better if it had taken a little longer. This was definitely my favourite book in the series though and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

The more I read of the Blasphemy Series, the more I like it. It’s hot, hot, hot and it has an actual story line. This works for me on several levels.

Quinton, after watching a couple of his friends find their life partners, finds himself longing for that himself. He’s not willing to settle though, he wants it all and is willing to hold out for his perfect match. His kink is all about sensory play including deprivation as he considers it the biggest mind-f*ck of all.

Cassia is a geologist who used to crave excitement but was trapped in a cave in for days in total darkness. Now she is absolutely terrified of the dark. She’s trying to find her way back from that and hopes that Master Quinton is up for the challenge.

At first, this was a no strings attached relationship but it’s hard to keep the emotions out when dealing with such an emotional thing. When you add in the scorchingly hot and sexy BDSM scenes, the emotion and passion bring these two together in ways they weren’t expecting.

I liked both Quinton and Cassia equally. Cassia’s extremely brave decision to take on her worst fears won me over. As for Quinton, he was gentle, kind, and patient, never giving up. He knew when to push and when to pull back.

These are short, passion filled, and sexy stories about finding your way through difficult circumstances that I am thoroughly enjoying.

This was an awesome read. Super hot with likable characters! I really liked both Quinton and Cassia. Quinton was super sweet and caring, helping Cassia deal with some past issues. Together they were playful, fun, and sweet with the perfect amount of teasing and flirting mixed in. I really liked Cassia, she was bold and daring, and brave wanting to face her fears.

There was a nice amount of emotion and drama that I really enjoyed. There were a lot of really great intense moments that where passion filled and heated thanks to the deprivation exploration. I loved this aspect and how it played into everything. It was sensual, passionate, and erotic. It was really entertaining and I liked the development as Quinton and Cassia came together. They had great chemistry and I couldn't wait for them to have their HEA.

The story was fast paced but I didn't feel like I was missing anything. More like it moved at an exciting clip and I was caught up in Quinto and Cassia’s story. I was really happy to see some crossover characters. That always makes me happy and it was a fun addition. I also enjoyed the other Dom’s in the club and getting to see a bit more of their personalities which makes me excited for more in the series.

This was a really fantastic, super hot read with great characters and I couldn't put it down. A great addition to the series!

I've gotta say, I'm absolutely LOVING this side of Laura Kaye's writing! It's so sensual and erotic and at the same time, packed with so much heart and emotion. From the minute I finished the first book in the series, I've wanted to get my hands on Master Quinton's story. There was just something about him, his easy going, laid back attitude that reeled me in from the very beginning. Oh, but in MASTERING HER SENSES, that man comes alive! We see the Master at work, and my god is it SEXY AS HELL!

"Use your safe word if you need me to back off, Cassia. Come as often as you can. And be as loud as you dare," he rasped, giving her a moment to adjust. "Understood?"

See what I mean? I get the chills reading that scene over and over again.

Cassia Locke was a great heroine and the PERFECT MATCH for our Quinton Ross. After suffering though a horrific accident, that caused all of her nerves to be shot, Cassia seeks asylum and peace in the BDSM club, Blasphemy. Of course she is no stranger to the scene, and she is no stranger to the delicious Quinton Ross either. When he comes to her rescue, she is reminded how safe she feels in this man's presence. Not immediately recognizing Cassia, he jumps into action for a woman he feels an incredible pull towards. Once everything is out in the open, Master Quinton will do everything in his power to bring light back into the darkness that he sees in Cassia's eyes. She wants to live again. She wants to be safe again. And he WILL give this to her, no matter what. Even though a relationship isn't what either of them need right now, the connection only grows deeper with every passing day. Quinton Ross strives hard to master Cassia's senses, but what he doesn't know is that he will be mastering her heart in the process.

"I am yours and you are mine, and we are each other's. And there's no one else in this. Ever."

If you haven't started this series and you are a fan of BDSM ROMANCE, all you need to know is that Laura Kaye has come into her own in this genre, and she will SLAY you with the vast amount of emotion and sex appeal she puts on every single page. Each book can be read as a standalone, but in my opinion, you need to pick up EVERY SINGLE BOOK that came before this, because they are AMAZING!

This was a really quick but hot read in the Blasphemy series by Laura Kaye. There was heat, passion, friendship and love. Quinton and Cassia were perfect together. I love the fact that their pairing was almost fated in a way, but a tragic accident in the past just delayed it. This story was scorching enough to satisfy BDSM lovers but was sweet enough to make the hopeless romantics swoon!

Quinton and Cassia have a history together. Two years earlier, a geological expedition ended tragically when Cassia Locke was caved in for days in complete darkness. That night ironically, she had a date with the Blasphemy owner and unfortunately stood him up. Fast forward two years and Cassia is back at Blasphemy trying to overcome her fear of the dark using sensory deprivation. But who comes to her rescue? Blasphemy owner and Master, Quinton Ross. He recognizes Cassia as the sub who stood him up years ago and when learning of her accident, sets out to help heal her.

I loved Quinton and Cassia together. He was protective and caring and just the right amount of an adventure loving badass who met Cassia thrill for thrill. While I did feel that their connection and feelings were pretty fast, all in all this was a great read and the perfect addition to the Blasphemy series. ~Ratula, 4 Stars

I'm just loving this series. Yes it's about BDSM, but that's only one part of it. Now don't get me wrong, there is a bunch of fun kinky sex, but there is also a wonderful love story to go with it.

Since the first book in the series I've been waiting for Quinton's story. From the second he was introduced I was drawn to him. With him I'd be willing to try anything. ANYTHING!!!

Very sexy!!!

Not only does he have the sexy part down pat he also has a heart of gold. You just can't help being drawn to him. I know, I mentioned that before but I need to drill that part down.

Of course he wasn't the only character in the story, I think there was some woman, what was her name again???? With Quinton around I have trouble seeing anyone else. My bad!

To be honest I really liked Cassia, she was very sweet and I felt bad for her. What she went throw had to be terrifying. We all know where I'm going with that comment so lets not play games. You have to read the book to find out what happened to her.

Not to worry you'll be happy that you did. It's a wonderful mix of romance and sex. It's not so over the top that I think people will be turned off by it. But if you're not really into reading about sex in your books then this isn't for you.

I really can't wait for the next book in the series. Of course since Quinton's my man, I'm sure I'll remember more about the heroine in the next book.

Holy smokes. That was HOT. There are some books that I think, that was hot, and there are others that I think I need to go find my husband after reading cause it was HOT. This was the second one for me ;) It pushed all the right buttons.

And the one doing all those button pushing? That honor goes to Master Quinton. He was just Dominant enough, while keeping his teasing, easy-going personality. I loved it! The way he cared for Cassia was swoon-worthy. And his caring went far beyond just the playroom.

I adored the fact that Laura Kaye tied in her Raven Riders series to this series! I love when authors do that! It just makes me love all the characters so much more knowing they all have ties to one another - even if that is only in my head and the head of the author LOL

As always, I will be looking forward to the next book in this series when I get to meet another Master more in depth.

After a tragic work accident scarred Cassia mentally she's struggled since. Her fear of the darkness consumes her life. It's affected her ability to do the job she loved. She makes the decision to try the BDSM club she's a member at and see if that will help her. She has miss-givings though and she's hoping she can explain to the Dom she stood up years ago why.

Quinton is one of the part owners of Blasphemy and a Dom who masters in sensory play and one who scenes regularly with the club submissive's. When he rescues Cassia from a scene she was attempting to engage in he knows there's more to her than meets the eye. Her fear is apparent for all to see.

Between the two of them he realises she did not stand him up like he'd first thought, she had been unable to attend due to the accident that has brought her back.

These two will have to put all their trust in each other for her to overcome this. It was an emotional journey watching Cassia overcome her phobia but with Quinton guiding her you can't help but fall a little in love with this sexy Dom.

Did I mention that is was HOT? Because it was. Extremely so.

Well written and the continuity with the characters was spot on. I enjoyed losing myself once again in club Blasphemy.

This book didn’t have the same amount of chemistry for me that Bound to Submit (one of my favorites) did. Still, it was a good book with some hot sexy times. There was only a little angst because it originated as a no-strings-attached relationship but they overcame the obstacle with very little drama.

“Because this incredible, handsome, adventurous man she'd found-he was her light in the dark.”

I was a few paragraphs in and I'm already in love with Master Quinton.

I've anticipated this book more because I was secretly hoping it was Q's story that would be next in the series, and what do you know, wish granted. Thank you Laura!

Master Quinton is just my kind of man. Other than being a Dominant, he's also an adrenaline junkie.
“So how did you get into sensory deprivation, then?

Because I'm kind of an evil fucker and I like to torment submissives with pleasure.”

Cassia Locked was traumatized with darkness and other triggers because of a cave-in but what I love about her is that she's a take charge woman. She hadn't been to Blasphemy for 2 years and she came back because she thought it would be the perfect way for her to how she used to be before - confident and enjoying all that comes with being in the lifestyle.

Although reading BDSM that revolves around a club has burned me, I am loving the Blasphemy series by Laura Kaye. The scenes are quite edgy and sexy and they differ from one another. The perspective on how these scenes were played was also quite refreshing and that there were not too much of 'mind talk' as the main purpose was to let the mind free and the body to feel.

What fell short for me though was that I felt exhausted at the beginning of the book. There was no downtime for me to recharge or absorb the effects of the subspace as the scenes were intense but they continued after one another. I know Cassia and Quinton have already known each other before and that have already been having scenes together before cave in happened, still I would have loved it if I felt more of their chemistry. You know that feeling where you feel rushed but couldn't explain why? That, there.

Overall, I can't wait for the next book in the series! I hope there's a lot of glimpses of the other Masters. Although, I can't quite decide whom I want next! ReadHard, always!

“If nothing else ever worked to help her tolerate the darkness, the memory of how his gorgeous face looked in that moment, shattered by the pleasure he'd found in her, just might've done the trick.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 21, 2017

REVIEW: MASTERING HER SENSES is the second full length installment in Laura Kaye’s contemporary, adult BLASPHEMY erotic, BDSM, romance series focusing on the exclusive BDSM club Blasphemy. This is Blasphemy co-owner and Master Quinton Ross, and geologist Cassia Locke’s story line. MASTERING HER SENSES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross over with Laura’s Raven Riders MC series. Cassia is the sister to Raven Rider’s member Jackson ‘Jagger’ Locke.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Cassia and Quinton) MASTERING HER SENSES follows the building relationship between Blasphemy co-owner and Master Quinton Ross, and geologist/submissive Cassia Locke. Years earlier, geologist Cassia Locke had been a submissive at Club Blasphemy but a work-place accident left our heroine with a panic disorder leaving her afraid of the dark. Upon her return to Blasphemy Cassia will encounter her former Master Quinton Ross who offers our heroine a ‘no-strings attached’ relationship to help her overcome her fear of the dark. A specialist in ‘sensory depravation’ kink Quinton will gain Cassia’s trust enabling her to slowly overcome the dark and frightening memories of the past. What ensues is the rekindling relationship and building romance between Cassia and Quinton, and Quinton’s realization that he wants more from Cassia than a Dom/sub relationship.

The world building focuses on the BDSM lifestyle: the Dom/sub relationships, the backrooms, the rules, the regulations and the people who like to play the scenes. There is very little story line conflict between our leading couple but for a case of mistaken belief that forces Cassia to second guess her relationship with Quinton Ross. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense but I do have an issue with authors who use a particular word in their erotic, romance story lines-in my opinion it is unnecessary and cheapens the overall feel of the story.

Kenna Sloane and Master Griffin Hudson (Bound to Submit #1) play secondary and supporting roles, as well as the introduction of Cassia’s brother Raven Rider MC member Jackson ‘Jagger’ Locke, and Master Wolf Henrikson whose story will be told next in the 1001 Dark Nights novella Eyes on You (July 2017).

MASTERING HER SENSES is a quick read; an erotic tale; a romantic story about one woman’s struggle to move on from the past, and one man’s belief in the woman with whom he is falling in love. The premise is emotional and dramatic; the romance is seductive and compelling; the characters are colorful, intelligent and spirited. MASTERING HER SENSES is a great addition to Laura Kaye’s BLASPHEMY series.

“Those eyes. Hazel with the gold. And he suddenly knew he’d seen them before. Years ago.”

Quinton is a laid-back person who enjoys spending his free time camping, hiking and with a bit more thrill seeking stuff like skydiving. Being a Dom at Blasphemy is more than just spending some kinky time, Quinton is into BDSM and he enjoys the lifestyle. As co-owner of the club he can always find a willing submissive to play with, but lately Quinton starts to become a little restless. Two of his fellow Doms have recently found love, and he wants a special bond like that as well. Seeing Cassia again brings back a lot of questions…
“What did you say?” He crouched in front of her, those eyes darker now. Dark and intense. It was the kind of look a Dom gave you when you deserved to be punished. Cassia almost wished he would.”

Cassia works as a geologist, but a serious accident two years ago changed the path of her career. She also hasn’t given into her submissive since she’s still dealing with the aftermath of being locked up in a dark cave. However, she’s ready to face her demons and returns to Blasphemy to overcome her fears. When Quinton sees how much Cassia is affected by her fears of the dark he offers to help her to defeat them. Cassia can’t resist him…
“But I gotta ask you something first.” “Yes, Sir?” “Did you touch yourself, Cassia? Did you make yourself come since we were last together?” He wasn’t sure whether he wanted her to have broken down or held out. A fast shake of her head. “No, Sir. Even though it was hard as hell.”

Cassia agreed to do a scene with Quinton some years ago, but she didn’t show up. Quinton was disappointed, but moved on to other subs. Now Cassia is back he wants to get to know her better, and since he’s specialized in sense-depriving scenarios he thinks he can help her with her problems. The couple starts out as a Dom and a submissive, but it doesn’t take long before feelings become involved. Of course, BDSM is a big part of their sexual adventures…

In the past few months I’ve read some pretty intense BDSM books and some were a bit out of my comfort zone. Mastering Her Senses on the other hand is a sweet and sexy book leaning more towards the safe side. Quinton and Cassia have their kinks and all, but they are focused on each other and their needs. What I do miss is an epilogue, but since there will be more Blasphemy books I’m sure we’ll see more of Cassia and Quinton in the future.
“Yours, baby. Do you understand?” “I do,” she whispered, so overwhelmed with love for this man. He placed his big hand against her chest. “Mine.” “Yes,” she said. “All yours.”

I like Cassia and Quinton, I give their story 4 stars.

I really love Laura Kaye's writing. Her worlds are immersive, and hold so many amazing characters, and couples you can fall in love with. This book was no exception,

Quinton is one of the 12 Masters at Blasphemy. We've met him in the prior books in this series, and he's always come across as fun, sweet, and down for whatever. He's into sensory deprivation scenes, and he's mostly into making sure his partner has the best time possible.

Cassia is a geologist, and she was trapped in a cave-in. She was injured, and now she is deathly afraid of the dark. It's affecting all areas of her life. She can't sleep without a light on, she can't go see a movie, and most importantly, she can no longer do her job. She loves her job, and the idea that she'll never be ok in a dark cave again makes her angry. But, she's not sure what to do about it. She was a member of Blasphemy a couple of years ago, before her accident, and she's hoping to lose herself there again.

Quinton and Cassia are magic together. They really care about each other from the beginning, and Quinton really wants to help Cassia get over her fears. They interact well outside of their scenes as well. They spend a fun day together with her brother (LOVE the series crossover there!), and realize how well they can exist in each other's lives, outside of the club. Soon, everyone is catching feelings all over the place, and they aren't sure what to do! I love how well they communicated their needs to each other.

There really is so much to love about this story. The characters are so believable, and relatable. Cassia's fear and panic is written in such a way that you feel that panic along with her. Also, the comfort she feels when she's with Quinton is, therefore, just as real to the reader. Quinton's sweetness, and his strong need to care for Cassia also came through loud and clear. Their honest dialogue pulls you in and makes you care about them even more. BDSM is never my go-to, but I truly enjoy this series and I love Laura Kaye's voice.

I've so enjoyed getting to know this world, and all of its myriad characters. I'm so looking forward to the next installment in this series!
