Welcome to Furniture Heaven. My Name is Mandi and I Will Be Your Tour Guide.

By Mandi 08/01/2011

About 2 months ago I stumbled into a store.

Euro Treasures 036

I have been wanting to stop there for months…like every time I drove by to do Studio 5, but was always in too big of a hurry.

Euro Treasures 042

But last time I was on I went back.

You know how Alice falls through the rabbit hole and is in her Wonderland?

Euro Treasures 024

This is like that minus the evil queen and weird caterpillar.

I was talking to one of my BBFF’s Brooke @ All Things Thrifty about how I wanted to shout from the rooftops this amazing store. Because of its location (right off the 6th south 1-15 off ram) LOADS of people see it but few stop. Its like this crazy huge secret.

Euro Treasures 046

As I was sharing it with her I came to the conclusion that its practically impossible to describe. You have to see it to believe it.

So we decided we would meet up in Salt Lake and make a video for you guys to get a glimpse of the overwhelming awesomeness that is Euro Treasures Antiques.

Euro Treasures 067

As your tour guides we are here to prepare you for the EXPERIENCE of Euro Treasures. Its so much more than a warehouse of the CRAZIEST furniture you will ever in your life see. I swear the first time someone goes there they go through the grief cycle because it is just that overwhelming.

You will need:

*2 hours (at least)

*A paper bag in case you start to hyperventilate.

*A buddy, cause there is waaaay too much stuff for 1 person to take in.

*Smelling salts if you are a fainter.

*A camera to take pics of what you love. Because of the sheer volume of pieces they have you WILL forget what you saw.

*Possibly a thesaurus if you are the intellectual type, because “Oh My GOSH” “Amazing” and “Unreal” will be COMPLETELY over used while you are inside. There are just no other words.

Euro Treasures 068

So now that you are prepared here is a little video that we put together for you! I know its kind of longish but SOOOO worth watching.

Are you DYING?

I know you are.

So where did it all come from?!?!

Scott knew a man from England that had a 7 story antique store. He was a hoarder in the most wonderful way. He became ill and sold most of his pieces to Scott and his wife. Just so you get an idea of the amount of stuff, it took them 3 years of actively working to ship everything to the US. There is SO MUCH STUFF that there are items that have still not been gone through by Scott and his staff…after more than 8 years.

One thing that you also need to know about Euro Treasures is that these are legit antiques. Most of the items are from the 17th and 18th century. These are NOT thrift store items. They have things ranging in price from $10-$100,000.00. Just be aware that that amazing piece that you want to take home and spray paint might be $5,000.00.

Scott has put together a section of bargains. Everything is $200 or less. Just know if you venture beyond that (which you TOTALLY will that the prices can be higher).

Here are some of my favorite pieces from the bargain section:

oakvanitybottom

mahgnightstand

oakdecochair

p.s. how sweet would that chair be painted white with gray chevron stripes on the back? Freakin cute, that’s how.

This credenza/buffet is only $200.00

Euro Treasures 058

So what now?

Well if you are within driving distance of Salt Lake get there! If you are not you need to fly in just to come here.

The pieces that are marked down wont last long, so get there NOW if you are looking for high quality antiques to add to your décor.

If you need a tour guide in real life we can meet up next time I am in town and I will be there to pass the smelling salts!

And when you are there make sure to tell Scott Hi from Mandi and Brooke.

In the interest of full disclosure we have received nothing from Euro Treasures. We just love you guys and knew you would want to know about it!!

Make sure that you click over to All Things Thrifty and read Brooke’s post too!

  1. This is so amazing! I am beyond jealous that I don’t live out there. Hmmm maybe I should drive across country with a U-Haul? It looks worth it to me!

  2. Oh the CHAIRS! I have a small obsession (make that huge) with chairs. hubs doesn’t understand. Thankfully LO#2 just broke a chair a few weeks ago, so I’m in the market for some new ones, unfortunately this amazing place is all the way across the country and I’d use up my chair fund just getting there. bummer dude. Enjoy it for me!!

  3. I have been there! It is everything you said, but truly impossible to comprehend the sheer amount of STUFF there unless you see it in person! I am dying to go back, preferably with pockets full of cash. The one treasure I came home with last time? I great big ornate “B” that was part of a business sign that said “Boots.” It hangs on my front porch, and I get comments on it ALL the time! If you ever want a shopping buddy…I’ll meet you there 😉

  4. I’m dying to go! I can’t believe this place is up near me! Thanks for the heads up, I would’ve missed out on all these treasures without you!

  5. This place is AMAZING! I’ve been there way too many times and I feel like I NEVER SEE EVERYTHING. Can’t get enough of this place. It’s quite inspiring!

  6. omg, I had to stop the video because I was getting so frustrated – I want to drive across country RIGHT NOW and GET IT ALL!!!! man, I can’t imagine what it’s like being there in person (my husband would never let me in there haha!)!

  7. I really love that store. It is definitely overwhelming. I used to live next door to his daughter (who is a photographer) and she often uses these great pieces in her photo shoots.

  8. OMG!! I’m in tears…. First for laughing so hard at your wording selections, second because this place looks like paradise and I want to go.. NOW!!! (on the phonenright this moment with the husband trying to explain what heaven looks like) I’m totally taking a field trip here! I love you for posting this!

  9. Oh my gosh! My heart is racing just from watching the video. So jealous. Now, if I can just convince the hubby to drive us all the way from Texas just to buy some great pieces…

  10. A friend introduced your blog to me and I love it! Next time you’re up north, you should check out the Antique Treasure Mall off I-15 in Springville. It’s got two full buildings and a side yard.

  11. OMG Mandi! Every time I get off the freeway I say I need to go to that store. I never realized just how fabulous it was. I definitely need to hit it up.

  12. All I kept saying when Brooke was looking at that yellow mantle looking thing was OH MY OH MY OH MY!!!! lol And that frigging yellow couch at the end…..ummm….I NEEEEEED that! I don’t think I will be able to live without it! Holy crap crapperton from crapperville!!! I’m soooooo going there! Like now…PEACE OUT girl SCoUt!! YEEHAAW!

  13. New Follower here. My heart is beating wildly with excitement. Already planning my trip up to SLC, from Utah county.

Thanks for such a cool post.

  14. TA DA! You just made my night 🙂 When I saw your first post with all of those awesome chairs I told myself to not even think about it b/c it’s in St.George and I live in SLC….. I’m totally going there ASAP ha 🙂

  15. This looks like so much fun, I would def freak out and need a paper bag in a place like this!! Just seeing all that junk makes my heart rate go up! LOL

  16. Hi Mandi! I met you at Target the other night with the hubs and I felt like I was meeting a celebrity! Haha, I was like all gidy and excited when we left. You are so awesome and my DIY idol.
    Back to this amazing-ness…
    OMG!!! Wow… just… wow.
How did I not know about this place? I just DIED and went to heaven. Thank you 🙂

  17. I can’t thank you enough for this blog post…we were over visiting family 2 weeks ago and I mentioned I wanted to go down here (they didn’t even know about this place). The pictures don’t do it justice…
I came home with 3 stained glass windows to hang up. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  18. I can’t thank you enough for this post! We went over 2 weeks ago to visit family and we went down (they hadn’t even heard of this place). The pictures don’t do it justice…I came home with 3 beautiful stained glass windows! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  19. I was reading a current post, and the intro to this post popped up at the bottom. I am about 8 hours away, but I would rather go on a buying trip than a vacation. In fact, my honeymoon umpty up years ago was to England. We drove around and bought furniture and had a shipper go around and pick the things up and ship them to New York. My bureau that I use now is an 1800’s campaign chest. You have such a good eye that you should have a booth somewhere for people that are driving through and can’t make your hoard sale. Love your guts Mandi, Ann

  20. I’ve known Scott for years. Before Euro Treasures he owned Salt Lake Antiques on the corner of 300 South and 400 East. He is by far the fairest, funniest and best antique dealer in SLC. I bought the most absolute gorgeous armoire from Euro Treasures, a piece I could NEVER find anywhere else in Utah. He has great stuff and is a great guy! I recognized the chair room up stairs before I even read your blog. Just happened to stumble on it from a link from AT. Thanks for posting! Makes me homesick for SLC. I used to stop by this place on my lunch hour at least once a week!

  21. Oh, but I do just have to say that the mall in Springville pales in comparison. Sorry but it’s really not worth the drive. IMHO. Euro Treasures? Worth it. Definitely.
