When Gavin saw his dad without a beard, he had a lot to say! This is too precious.

Children become very attached to their parent’s physical features because it helps children to identify their parents.

So, when a parent makes a big change to their physical appearance it can throw their child off and make them wonder if they are still the same person.

That’s what happened when 5-year-old Gavin Jones discovered that his father James shaved off his beard.

“Our son, Gavin, had just turned 5-years-old at the time we recorded his actions to James shaving his beard,” J. Jones wrote in a post that was shared on the Love What Matters’ Facebook page. “Gavin is 100% all boy and a daddy’s boy who is very loving, energetic and funny. James had his beard since Gavin was a baby so he only knew his dad with facial hair.”

Gavin’s mom new how attached Gavin was to his dad’s beard, so she was ready with a camera to capture his reaction.

“James decided to shave his beard off and we had a feeling Gavin would react so I grabbed my camera then called him into the bathroom so we could record his raw reaction,” she wrote.

And Gavin’s reaction was everything that the Jones’ thought it would be. Pure hilariousness!

Gavin walks into the room all bright-eyed and smiling looking at his dad. That’s when he notices what’s going on.

“Why are you shaving?” he asks. “Daddy, why are you shaving your beard.”

His voice becomes desperate and he starts to sniffle in between his words.

“Aww man, why did you shave your beard,” he says with his arms folded. “I don’t want you to shave your beard, you meanie.”

His dad grins wide and reassures his son that his beard will grow back, but that wasn’t a good enough answer for Gavin who stamped his foot.

“I look like you now,” James tells Gavin.

At this point, Gavin is fully crying and very angry. He started to say some hurtful words to his dad, which were quite hysterical.

“Gavin says he’s going to get rid of James,” J. Jones writes. “James said he could glue some fake hair back on his face and it seemed like Gavin thought about it for a second because he smiles but then replies no.”

Both of Gavin’s parents are trying not to laugh too hard.

“I think I look like you,” James says.

“You look stupid!” Gavin screams.

Absolutely, hysterical! James tells Gavin that he feels stupid and Gavin tells him that he is. Then Gavin drops the “h-word” (hate) and his dad tells him that it’s not very nice. Gavin didn’t seem to care at that moment and the video ends with him pouting.

His grumpy attitude, however, didn’t last for long.

“Shortly after that happened we found a video Gavin made on his iPad saying he loved his dad very much and he couldn’t get rid of him,” J. Jones wrote.
