Abstract: Objective To investigate the efficay of exercise-based postoperative rehabilitation prescribed for patients with gastric cancer. Methods Forty patients with gastric cancer treated in Leshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2013 to June 2015 were selected as the observation group and another 40 postoperative patients with gastric cancer treated from May 2014 to December 2014 were selected as the control group. Patients in the observation group were prescribed exercise based on the routine care and patients in the control group only received routine care. Postoperative recovery and life quality were compared between the two groups. Results Time to recovery of gastrointestinal function and time to hospital stay time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group; appetite and improvement of clinical symptoms in the observation group was better than those in the control group; complications were less in the observation group than those in the control group( P < 0. 05). Scores of physical function,role function,emotional function,physical symptoms and overall health status in the observation group were higher than those in the control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Postoperative rehabilitation exercise prescription can accelerate rehabilitation,reduce complications and improve life quality in patients with gastric cancer.
