Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and have been vaping for 6 weeks now (quit smoking of 27 years). I have a question, I am going on a trip to Philippines in November flying from Florida to NY to Hong Kong to Philippines for a few weeks. (Same flights back, but a quick stop in Vancouver Canada) I have read Cathay rules but am a bit confused. (I haven't read jet blue rules yet). Before reading the rules I already planned on putting my mod and tank, coils, coil tester, wire, and juice (about 200ml) etc. along with 3 big bottles of cologne In my check-in bag. Question is this should be fine right? I just don't wanna have any issues what's so ever.

Also I know I have to have 2 of my 18650 batteries, I know these have to be on carry on. I have the battery case to put them in, but on rules it says the batteries need to have a label and I need a receipt and /or data sheet on them. My batteries are supposedly Sony VTC6 they are green with a white label saying "18650 3000mah 3.7v" I think they aren't real Sony's. Would that be an issue? Because it doesnt say sony anywhwre on the batteries and i couldnt use a data sheet. I also read that the batteries have to be in a device, like a flashlight or a power bank?? That they can't be loose (or in a battery case) Is this true? Also the rules says only 2g for them, I'm not quite sure what that means. I know my wah, is good though.

Thanks you for having me here, and much help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum :)
Sadly I don't know much to help you. I have never traveled outside the US with vaping gear. Iirc different countries have different rules though and you might have to comply individually with all of them. It's possible the tsa website would be helpful, I don't know. Sorry.

Do you plan on staying in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong: The sale and possession of nicotine-based e-cigarettes classified as a Type I Poison, is governed under the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance. Sale or possession is not authorized and both are considered punishable by a fine of up to HK$100,000 and/or a prison term of 2 years. However, the law does not cover any non-nicotine inhalers.[117]

As far as individual airlines follow the TSA rules if your specific air carrier does not provide the information.

That's highly ironic considering where almost all vape gear comes from

No, I have a 4 hour lay-over there. What you posted I have read somewhere else as well and I know Canada is another issue too. But I live and flying from Florida to stay in Philippines (I just have layovers in NY, Honk Kong, and Canada is just a quick stop).

This is from TSA link below... does this mean the ejuice too?

Electronic Cigarettes and Vaping Devices
Carry On Bags:
Yes
Checked Bags:
No
The FAA prohibits these devices in checked bags. Battery-powered E-cigarettes, vaporizers, vape pens, atomizers, and electronic nicotine delivery systems may only be carried in the aircraft cabin (in carry-on baggage or on your person). Check with your airline for additional restrictions. Remove all electronic cigarette and vaping devices from carry-on bags if checked at the gate or planeside.

Sorry, all I have to offer is experience with flight within the US. And that was don't take any juice containers with you (check it) but take everything else as carry on. They'll x-ray it and they should know what it is. If a TSA goon questions you just try to patiently explain what each thing is for and what it does. Then leave your carry on with the vape stuff in the overhead compartment. If you have a layover in a country that allows vaping take your mod out (tank loaded with juice/batteries in mod) and go find the smoking bar in the airport. You'll have to pay a cover charge (usually one drink) to hang out and vape with the smokers.

Eliguid can go in your carry on, they need to be in a zip lock bag and you're restricted to 100ml. iirc

Last I went it was less than 177 mls because I had to throw away a fresh bottle of (177 ml) drug store VG. So 100 mls max sounds about right.

Also pick up some 4th Amendment undergarments if they're still made:

TSA, reliable on domestic flights, international carriers a maybe. Juice is a liquid and may be stored in checked baggage. If you choose to carry them, then it's each bottle limited to 100 mm (120 is fine) and all the bottles must fit with all your other liquids in a 1 quart ziploc bag.

As for mods and batteries, all must be in carry on luggage. I've done the "in mod, out of mod in a box" and never had anyone take a second look. Placing mods, even without batteries in them, in checked luggage might generate a second look.

This seems pretty comprehensive and includes a section on travel: Electronic Cigarettes - Global Legal Status.

Though, it sounds like the countries you have stopovers with, you shouldn't have an issue (even if e-cigs are illegal there) if you don't leave the gate area and have to go through security between your layovers. I see no reason to do that, so you shouldn't have a problem, as long as you don't leave your carryon unattended and etc. Since you won't actually (hopefully) be interacting with any Hong Kong officials, you shouldn't have an issue. I am not thinking it would be the greatest idea to try and stealth vape in Hong Kong airport, however. :)

I actually don't know the status on the Philippines, but I'm *thinking* it's okay?
