Homecoming photos in your backyard? On your staircase? How passé. If you want to get a little more adventurous and embrace a European sensibility, Ikea may be your next best bet.

A group of teenagers in Frisco, Texas, decided to do just that for their homecoming this year, eschewing those standard, sometimes awkward group shots in favor of hitting up the Swedish furniture retailer for some silly photos. As reported by Yahoo, the high school seniors, as chronicled by their friend Megan Goulding on Twitter, hit up multiple showrooms within their local Ikea for the snaps, which included hanging out in a stainless-steel kitchen and casually chilling on some comfy Vimle sofas.

“A few weeks ago when we started planning homecoming, we were trying to find out where to take our pictures, and one of the boys [said] Ikea as a joke, but I was totally onboard with it from the beginning,” Megan told Yahoo, noting that her mom is a professional photographer who took the photos. “We didn’t want to do traditional pictures, because we wanted to be different. Everyone just goes to a park and stands by some trees, but we didn’t want to do that this year.”

Though there was some initial hesitation from a few of her friends — would the gowns and tuxedos really look that good surrounded by low-priced furniture? — Megan said that eventually everyone came around to the idea and loved the uniqueness of what ensued. “To make my friends more confident, I asked them, ‘When you are 40, would you rather show your kids pictures at a park or IKEA?’ I say IKEA!” she explained. “My classmates have loved it! So many people have asked why we did it, but they all think it was a great idea.”

Hey Ikea, maybe throw these nice kids some free dorm essentials when they head off to college?
