Soon, You’ll Be Able to Drop Off Amazon Returns to This Retailer

You bought something on Amazon. Now, you don’t actually want it (perhaps you bought it at 3 am while up with the baby or insomnia—no judgement, we’ve all been there). Now you have to return it. In the grand scheme of online returns, Amazon makes it relatively painless, but now you’ll have an additional option that doesn’t require finding your nearest UPS store.

Just head to Kohl’s, and they’ll handle it for you. Yes, the strip mall staple will take your opened Amazon packages and return them for you—for free—without you having to print a label, tape a box shut, or check your nearest UPS location’s hours.

The retailer announced today that 82 Kohl’s locations will begin accepting Amazon returns starting in October. The program will be first tested at Los Angeles and Chicago area stores.

“We are thrilled to launch this unprecedented and innovative concept, allowing customers to bring in their unpackaged Amazon returns to Kohl’s and we will pack them, ship them, and return them to Amazon for free,” said Richard Schepp, Kohl’s Chief Administrative Officer.

If that’s not convenient enough, if you’re running in to make an Amazon return, there will also be dedicated parking spaces near the entrance just to expedite the process.

This news comes after Kohl’s announced that an Amazon smart home experience will be available in ten of its stores across the Chicago and Los Angeles areas starting in October, and these stores “will have Amazon returns integrated into the overall Amazon experience, located prominently at the front of the store,” according to a press release.

Since Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods was finalized back in August, it is expected that the organic grocery chain will similarly become a return center for Amazon purchases, though no date for that perk has been announced.
