The Ministry of Health (MOH) triggered the Disease Outbreak Response System (DORS) with the outbreak of Influenza A (H1N1) virus in 2009.
DORS is a five-colour alert system that progresses from Green to Yellow, Orange, Red and Black. MOH raised the alert from Green to Yellow on April 28, 2009 and then to ORANGE two days later. The alert was then brought down to Yellow on May 11, 2009.
Precautionary health measures were put in place to contain the spread of the disease. These included contact tracing, Home Quarantine Orders (HQO), travel advisories, public health advisories and treatment and vaccination.
