The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic Church based non-governmental organization with a mission to accompany, serve and protect refugees and internally displaced persons–regardless of faith, race, ethnicity or nationality. The main areas of work are in the field of education, emergency assistance, livelihood and social services. JRS is a non - profit venture of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) that was established in 1980. JRS works in more than 50 countries worldwide. It has committed itself in Ethiopia for more than a couple of decades helping refugees from all over Africa.
JRS Ethiopia is now recruiting a qualified Education and Livelihood Lead Teacher for its Dollo Ado project (which implements in Kobe and Melkadida refugee camps) in Dollo Ado district, Liben zone of the Ethiopian Somali regional state. The Education and Livelihood Lead Teacher plays a leading role in planning, coordinating, implementation, monitoring and reporting of functional adult literacy program, livelihood and vocational training components of the Dollo Ado project. S/he is responsible for overseeing adult literacy and vocational training centers, supervising and providing technical supports and trainings for adult education and vocational training teachers. S/he is also engaged in undertaking needs assessment, designing of manuals, guidelines, and project proposals. S/he reports to the Project Director.
