USA Network has announced that it has picked up the pilot for a new series about the police investigations behind the murders of 2Pac and the Notorious B.I.G. The show is called “Unsolved,” and it’s written by Kyle Long (“Suits”) and directed by Anthony Hemingway–director and co-executive-producer of the Emmy Award-winning “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.” Former LAPD Detective Greg Kading is consulting on the script; he is the author of Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations.

There’s been even more interest lately in 2Pac and Biggie’s lives and deaths. A Pac biopic, called All Eyez on Me, is currently in the works. (Jamal Woolard will reprise his Biggie role from Notorious in the movie.) There is also another series about Biggie that TBS is developing. It’s called “Think B.I.G.,” and each episode “will be loosely based on the lyrics of Notorious B.I.G.” And yet another project–a film called Labyrinth–will tell the story of Detective Russell Poole, the investigator who worked on Biggie’s murder case. Johnny Depp will play Poole.

Outside of Hollywood’s endeavors, there are currently plans to create a Notorious B.I.G. hologram. In addition, both artists have had their lyrics featured on Sprite cans (Biggie in 2015, Pac in 2016). In 2017, 2Pac could be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; he was nominated alongside Pearl Jam, Bad Brains, Depeche Mode, and many others.
