At the Photokina GoPro were showing their customs solutions for productions which have been available since earlier this year. GoPro now make a version of the Hero4 Black that is split down into component parts for easier placement and discreet mounting.
The idea is to make the already small GoPro form factor and make it even less obvious. The lens and sensor are detached from the main control unit and memory card, which in turn can be powered by a battery on the end of another extension cable.
Uses so far have included mounting the camera in hats, into motorbike fairings and into the base of the Grammy awards.
The customs solutions are not available for the public to buy. In order to use them you need to be involved in a professional production and apply to GoPro via their website.
